Cons from reviewers
-
Memory-intensive builds struggle: Despite having 3GB RAM, the Pro plan often fails to meet the needs of memory-intensive builds, especially Android ones, leading to failed builds due to memory issues
-
Self-hosted version requires a lot of memory: The self-hosted version of Buddy can be demanding in terms of memory and lacks the ability to use slashes to group repositories under namespaces
-
Complex builds sometimes fail randomly: Complex builds can sometimes fail without logs, making it difficult to investigate the cause. This issue occurs even on machines with high memory
-
Pricing structure could be improved: Some users feel that they could be getting more for the price they're paying, with one user paying $200 and feeling like they could be getting more value.
-
Limited additional services per pipeline action: There's a limit of four additional services per pipeline action, which can be quickly maxed out, especially for larger projects

Highly Satisfied with Buddy: A Reliable and Efficient Banking App
I'm absolutely thrilled with the Buddy software! I receive daily notifications, keeping me constantly updated. I've been using this app for a month now and it's been a breeze. I'm in the process of transferring my money to a new bank account, and this is exactly how a bank or app should function. I highly recommend making the smart choice and sticking with Buddy!

An Honest Review: The Charm and Quirks of Buddy Service
A few years ago, I discovered this service and it was pretty good. Over time, they've made some changes, but I believe they're still worth sticking with. I had to close my bank account once and it was quite an adventure, but it was a learning experience. The app has its quirks, but it's part of its charm and it keeps things interesting. The concierge may take a bit to respond, but when they do, it's always consistent and reliable. One thing to note is that the service is specifically for Italian residents. I moved and they had to close my account, but I appreciate their adherence to their policies. They even sent the account closure notification to my old Italian address, despite me providing them with my new one. It shows their commitment to their rules. The overall assistance may seem basic, but it's straightforward and to the point. They may not keep track of their customers in a traditional sense, but it gives a sense of freedom and independence. It's a unique experience that's different from what they advertise, but it's refreshing in its own way. I think they could benefit from a good CRM integration, but it's an opportunity for growth and improvement. It's exciting to think about the potential they have!

Buddy: A Reliable Continuous Integration Tool for Engineering Teams
Buddy has been a valuable tool for our engineering team, providing reliable builds and convenient CI/CD and deployment features. Its web-UI based workflow builder is especially impressive, making it user-friendly for beginner mobile developers. However, the Pro plan struggles with memory-intensive builds, especially Android ones. Even with 3GB RAM, it often fails to meet our needs, leading to failed builds due to memory issues, no matter how optimized the pipeline. We chose Buddy mainly because its pricing was more flexible.

Unshakeable Stability with Buddy
Buddy arrived at the perfect time for us, resolving all our issues and enabling us to deploy in various complexities quickly. The software updates regularly, constantly adding excellent new features. It has a decent user interface that allows us to do everything we need, and YAML configuration is available for those who don't want it. It's sensibly priced and offers a self-hosted option for those who prefer to keep it in-house. It integrates well with all the tools we use and more. However, we have to manually renew our LetsEncrypt SSL through the CLI tool on the server. The hardware requirements can be a bit high if using Docker, but that's more of a Docker issue than a Buddy one. We switched to Buddy because we were facing numerous problems with Deploybot, which slowed down on new features since being sold to another company and seems to have been abandoned. We also had many issues with stuck pipelines and web UI bugs.
