My top 3 Amazon Music alternatives

Spotify
Beginning with Spotify is where I would begin to find an Amazon Music type service with better discovery options as well. For example, starting with "Personalized playlists", I could create a "commute mix" for offline use; rather than pairing my device with my car's radio again after getting home, I would simply pass control of the audio stream to either a speaker or a TV via the new Spotify Connect functionality. Additionally, I appreciate the fact that Spotify includes podcasts in addition to audiobooks and offers varying levels of Premium subscription that provide an additional one hour per month of free audiobook listening to help me determine how much to take on during extended road trips.
Shazam
Shazam doesn’t replace a full streaming catalog for me; it’s the fastest “capture layer” for songs I hear on the street or inside other apps. Pop-up Shazam can identify audio while I’m scrolling TikTok/Instagram, and Auto Shazam keeps matching songs even after I switch apps. Once it finds a match, I can sync identified tracks to services like Spotify so the discovery doesn’t get lost in my camera roll or notes app.
Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video is a weird-but-real alternative if my goal is “one subscription for entertainment” rather than strictly music streaming. X-Ray can surface cast info, trivia, and soundtrack details while a title is playing, and some titles add curated bonus videos and photo galleries inside the same overlay. For travel, its “Download and go” behavior scratches the same offline itch as downloaded music, just in video form.
