SpiraTest: Superior to Excel, Testuff, and Other Budget Test Management Tools

I appreciate the risk-free test data management provided by Spiratest. This cloud-accessible tool is highly beneficial for my test team. We especially enjoy the ability to group test cases, the folder hierarchy, and the capacity to run test sets and test runs per release. The addition of the all tests with test steps view was a welcome feature. The customizable reports are very handy once they are properly configured or scripted, although the interface can be quite complex for non-developers or non-technical individuals. It's not very intuitive. I wish the data imported to the Excel template via the Excel add-on could be immediately exported back to Spira. This would simplify the process of creating duplicates with minor changes, such as copying large test sets for a new release. Finding the appropriate report can be difficult without having to run one to see what it displays. A snapshot of the report with generic data would be beneficial. I believe that failing or blocking a test should automatically initiate the creation of the incident.

SpiraTest: A Strong Contender in Project Management Software

SpiraTest stands out among other project management applications, surpassing Quality Center in creating diverse workflows for various incident types. Its workflow customization is based on a straightforward interface, not VBScript, making linking project artifacts easier and more intuitive. SpiraTest even has a tool for communicating with Quality Center, which is handy if I need to work in both applications. When compared to Pragmatic Software Planner, SpiraTest provides more accessible information and a fully functional system. Software Planner falls short with its rigid workflow, non-intuitive interface, and non-functional features like custom reports. SpiraTest offers unbeatable value without the need to pay a premium. It's easy to set up and use, once I get used to the workflow paradigm. I appreciate the traceability feature, which allows all project components to be linked together. The test case management is excellent, allowing the creation of individual steps for each test case and linking steps from one test case to another to avoid duplication.

SpiraTest: A Comprehensive Tool with Room for Improvement

Pros: I appreciate Spiratest's coverage of both requirements and test cases. It's compatible with automatic testing tools and allows me to create and execute test sets separately from their contained test cases. Cons: However, I've encountered some issues. The "keep me logged in" feature is inconsistent, sometimes leading to lost changes. Occasionally, lists don't display correctly and I have to select "Show Level 1" to correct it, which is bothersome. The software's mix of German and English can be confusing. The tree list view on the left when editing a requirement or test case often malfunctions, hindering navigation. Moving list items sometimes fails. The "Administration" link only appears if a project is opened for which someone is a project owner, even if they're an overall administrator. If text is copied from a test step and the whole text field was selected, a grey background is pasted. Nice to have: I'd like...
