01 Is Venngage any Good? My expert Review
I have been working with Venngage for about 8 months. During this time I created a number of marketing documents and internal reports for my team. The first thing that caught my eye was the ease in finding templates from their vast library. When I needed to create an infographic of our Q3 sales funnel for non-technical stakeholders, I easily found a template and was able to customize it with our company's colors and data, all within minutes. Their drag-and-drop format allowed for the creation of these documents to be relatively easy.
However, the platform has some limitations as well. I have found the free version of Venngage to be limited, especially since I was trying to create print materials. The watermarks on the free exported versions required that I upgrade to the paid version sooner than I would have liked to. While the variety of templates they offer are excellent for the types of infographics and presentation based documents I need to create, I find myself wanting to use a different tool to create more complex data visualizations. They do provide many options for customizing charts; however, they are not nearly as robust as the chart customization options I am accustomed to using in other software I have utilized in the past.
On a positive note, I have found the collaboration features of Venngage to be very helpful. Creating drafts of my documents and sharing them with my marketing manager for her input were both seamless experiences, as was utilizing the commenting feature to keep track of each others' suggestions for changes. Overall, I believe that Venngage does strike a great balance between being easy enough to utilize by someone who is not a professional designer, yet still offers a sufficient amount of capabilities to produce quality visual content for your organization. I will continue to use Venngage for simple and fast turnaround projects, however, I will continue to utilize more specialized software for any complex or detailed design work.
