My top 3 InVision alternatives
By Jean-Loup Karst, Co-founder @Secret
Miro
Miro is a digital whiteboard platform designed to facilitate team collaboration. It's particularly useful for brainstorming sessions, agile workflows, or when you need to visually organize your ideas. For example, you could use Miro to map out the user journey for a website or app, with team members adding their input in real time.
Mural
Mural is another digital workspace for visual collaboration. It's great for running design thinking workshops or planning projects with distributed teams. Imagine you're planning a new marketing campaign - with Mural, you can create a visual plan that everyone in the team can contribute to, regardless of where they are located.
Figma
Figma is a cloud-based design tool that makes real-time collaboration easy, especially when you're working on UI/UX projects. For example, if you're designing a new app interface, you can quickly share your work with teammates, who can then give instant feedback or even jump in and make edits directly. It also has nice prototyping features, letting you build interactive mockups to test out your designs.
Personally, I think Figma is a strong replacement for InVision. It's more intuitive and streamlined, and the ability to collaborate and prototype within one platform makes the entire design process smoother and more efficient.

Feedback Stays on the Work with Comments and Mentions
I started using Miro mainly for diagramming flows and wireframe discussions, but the comments, mentions, and simple sharing permissions ended up being the bigger win because feedback stays attached to the actual work instead of getting lost in email threads

Why is Miro a good alternative to InVision?
I find InVision to be a great alternative to Miro primarily because of its interactive prototyping feature. This tool allows me to create highly dynamic, clickable prototypes that closely simulate the final product, which is incredibly helpful in user testing and presentations. InVision also offers seamless integration with design tools like Sketch and Adobe XD, making it easier for me to import and sync my designs.
Moreover, InVision's collaboration feature is excellent. It enables real-time feedback from stakeholders or team members directly on the design. The version control feature ensures that I can easily track changes and revert to previous versions if necessary. With a user-friendly interface and robust functionality, InVision proves to be a powerful tool for UX/UI designers.

Mural - Unrivalled Virtual Whiteboard Experience!
This software, Mural, is not just a fantastic and functional app, but it's also visually appealing. It fulfills my designer's need to express and organize my ideas, and it's as aesthetically pleasing as it is calming. I use it for personal notes, sketching, planning, and even for client-based project sharing and brainstorming sessions. It's the most beautiful software/app I use. With Mural, I can work alone, sketch, collect images, take notes, and then share it with as many people as I want. It also allows for real-time meetings, where we can share ideas, work on a virtual "whiteboard" simultaneously, and communicate visually, no matter where we are. Although it's a bit expensive, it's definitely worth it. I've even started using Mural instead of Skype and Zoom meetings. My clients are impressed with the ability to interact visually with my ideas and me, and they can express their own ideas as well.

Mural compared to InVision
InVision is a better solution based on percentage of positive reviews than Mural: 95 vs 93
Mural is a better solution for customer support than InVision: 4.5 vs 4.4
Mural is easier to set up than InVision: 4.5 vs 4.4
InVision is more suitable for small businesses thanks to its good value for money than Mural: 4.3 vs 4.2
Mural is better at number of features than InVision: 59 vs 54
Why is Mural a good alternative to InVision?
I find InVision to be a strong alternative to Mural due to its robust features and user-friendly interface. InVision offers an intuitive design and prototyping tool that makes it easy for teams to collaborate, share feedback, and streamline the design process. It also provides a range of functionalities such as interactive prototypes, animation, and design components that are not readily available in Mural.
Moreover, InVision's seamless integration with tools like Slack, JIRA, and Trello enhances its usability. The platform also has a feature called 'Inspect' which significantly simplifies the handoff by automatically translating designs into code. This feature can save developers a lot of time and effort.
Overall, while both platforms have their strengths, I believe InVision's additional features and integrations make it a compelling alternative to Mural for design teams.
What are the differences between Mural and InVision?
Comparing these 2 applications, I can say that InVision and Mural, while both being excellent tools for design collaboration, have some key differences. InVision is primarily focused on prototyping and user interface design. It allows designers to create interactive mockups for web and mobile projects which greatly assists in the design process. For its part, Mural is more about brainstorming and collaboration. It provides digital workspaces for teams to collaborate in real-time, making it ideal for ideation, creating user stories, or planning sprints.
Another significant difference lies in their functionality. InVision has robust features for animation and transition between screens, which is quite beneficial for demonstrating the flow of applications. Conversely, Mural doesn't support prototyping but excels in providing a visual collaboration platform with sticky notes, drawings, diagrams, etc., which can be extremely helpful during the initial stages of a project.
The PandaSuite tool allows you to turn all your ideas into applications, digital publications and interactive presentations without any knowledge of computer development. From idea to creation, it’s just a step away.

Why is PandaSuite a good alternative to InVision?
I believe InVision is a great alternative to PandaSuite because of its robust and user-friendly features. InVision is a digital product design platform known for its collaborative tools, which allow designers and stakeholders to seamlessly work together in real-time. It offers interactive and animated prototyping, user testing, and design sharing, making it easier to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments. Unlike PandaSuite, InVision supports Sketch and Photoshop files, which are widely used by designers. It also integrates with popular tools like Slack, Jira, and Microsoft Teams, enhancing team communication and productivity. Furthermore, InVision provides educational resources such as webinars, blogs, and design tutorials that can be beneficial for beginners. Overall, InVision's comprehensive features and integrations make it a strong contender against PandaSuite.
What are the differences between PandaSuite and InVision?
I have used both InVision and PandaSuite for different projects and found that they each have their unique strengths. InVision is primarily a prototyping tool used for creating interactive and dynamic design prototypes. It's great for collaboration, allowing multiple users to work on a project simultaneously, and it integrates well with other design tools like Sketch and Adobe XD.
On the other hand, PandaSuite is a more comprehensive platform that allows you to create interactive apps, e-books, and web content without coding. It offers more flexibility in terms of interactivity and animation capabilities. However, it might have a steeper learning curve compared to InVision due to its extensive features. So, while InVision is excellent for prototyping and team collaboration, PandaSuite is more suited for creating interactive digital experiences.

Low-Friction Flows, Links, and Comments
What I appreciate most is how little friction there is. Creating user flows, linking screens, and leaving comments all feel immediate, and the interface stays out of the way. It is not trying to do everything, which is probably why it works so well for planning work

My experience with Framer has been mostly positive because it removes a lot of friction from launching new pages. A marketer on our team can duplicate an existing page, swap CMS content, adjust sections, and publish without touching code. I also got a discounted yearly subscription via Joinsecret, and while that was not the main reason we chose it, it definitely helped

Why is Photoshop a good alternative to InVision?
As a designer, I find Photoshop a good alternative to Invision. Photoshop is not just an image editing tool; it also offers robust features for UI/UX design. Unlike Invision which is purely a prototyping tool, Photoshop provides a wider range of functionalities including photo manipulation, graphic design, and even 3D modeling. This makes Photoshop more versatile and allows me to handle various aspects of design in one place.
Moreover, Photoshop's layer-based working style gives me the flexibility to control every element in my design precisely. It also comes with an extensive library of brushes, patterns, and effects that can enhance the visual appeal of my designs.
While Invision excels in collaboration features, Photoshop's integration with other Adobe products like Illustrator and XD makes it possible to build comprehensive design systems. Therefore, for its versatility and precision control, I consider Photoshop a viable alternative to Invision.
What are the differences between Photoshop and InVision?
I use both Photoshop and Invision in my design workflow, and they serve different uses. Photoshop, developed by Adobe, is a comprehensive graphic editing program used primarily for raster graphics. It's perfect for creating and editing images, website layouts, logos, and other design elements. It's highly versatile with a vast range of tools and capabilities.
In contrast, Invision is a prototyping tool that allows designers to create interactive mockups for web and mobile projects. While it doesn't have the graphic creation capabilities of Photoshop, it excels in providing real-time feedback and collaboration. Designers can easily share their prototypes with clients or team members who can then comment directly on the designs.
Therefore, while both are valuable tools for designers, they are used at different stages of the design process - Photoshop for creating elements and Invision for piecing them together into a cohesive user interface.
