01 Is Dropbox any Good? My expert Review
After using Dropbox extensively for both personal and professional purposes, I can definitely say that it is a solid cloud storage service overall. One feature that I liked most was how well it integrates with other productivity tools, which made working on one project easier. For example, during a marketing project, the ability to integrate Dropbox into Slack and Trello was a huge win for our team since we could quickly grab shared files without skipping a beat.
Another positive aspect derived from using Dropbox was the security of the service and its capabilities. I was often working with sensitive client information and was nervous about potential issues; however, I had full confidence that the information was protected behind a layer of encryption and privacy features. The peace of mind of knowing everything was being kept safe allowed me to focus on the work instead of worrying about a potential data breach.
That being said, I had some small difficulties using Dropbox, particularly during some collaborative work. For instance, while working on a presentation with team members who were each in several remote locations, the updates we made to each other's presentations were not instant. Instead, we had to reopen the presentation before any of the updates would show up. Therefore, though this was not a huge issue, we lost some spontaneous momentum with the flow of the project.
Also, while the overall interface is simple to use, I feel like the aesthetics of Dropbox could use a refresh as tools like Google Drive and One Drive have the more aesthetically pleasing interface that would be more intuitive for those not very computer savvy.
Overall, despite any of the minor bumps along the way, my overall experience is still positive based on the fact that I can always count on Dropbox to back up important files automatically, and it is quick and easy for sharing large files. Dropbox became and still is an integral part of my daily workflow.
