When I have "demand" that is already "hot," I use Google Ads. This way I can get rid of unwanted searches quickly by using keyword targeting in combination with the search terms report, which also allows me to use negative keywords. To start a new product or service, I will typically set up both a Search and/or Display campaign with Remarketing and Smart Bidding as well as create a Performance Max Campaign. This creates an opportunity to increase my reach through Search, YouTube, Gmail, Maps, Display and Discover all at once. One of the main practical advantages of Google Ads compared to other social media platforms are the ability to optimize for conversion while still having visibility into what users entered prior to clicking on your ad.
TikTok Ads
TikTok Ads is the alternative I pick when the creative itself is the targeting. Spark Ads are especially useful because you can boost organic posts (including creator posts) instead of re-uploading as a “dark” ad, so the ad can inherit the social proof on the original post.
