I want to share my disastrous experience with Replit to prevent others from going through the same ordeal. My project started off promisingly, but quickly turned into a real nightmare, until it was completely abandoned due to their incompetence and abusive practices. 1. Deliberate blockage and customer retention After deciding to migrate my project to Google Cloud, Replit blocked the authentication process for 10 days without valid reason. This forced immobilization seems to be a strategy to prevent clients from leaving their platform and force them to continue hosting with them. 2. Abusive fees and hidden dependencies To try to unblock the situation, I had to pay over $1,600. Then, forced to return to Replit due to locked technical dependencies, I paid an additional $600 – without any functional solution. One of their agents (Agent 3) admitted that these charges were "abusive" and abnormal. 3. Services billed without your knowledge The same agent noticed that Replit was running servers without our knowledge, incurring unrequested fees. This kind of practice is totally unacceptable. 4. Incompetent and exhausting support Their support, though polite, is disorganized and inefficient. One of the agents (Agent 4) lacked training and forgot previous exchanges, forcing me to repeat the same information in a loop for hours. These endless sessions lasted more than ten days, causing stress, extreme fatigue, and sleepless nights. 🔚 Conclusion Replit gives the illusion of a flexible and modern platform, but behind this façade hides a locked, expensive, and exhausting system. My project was completely abandoned, after spending more than $2,600 and weeks of frustration. I am now forced to take action with my bank to get a refund, as the promised service was never delivered. 💬 In summary: Replit is the promise of a fast service… that turns into a slow, stressful, and ruinous trap. Avoid this modern scam before you lose your time, money, and health.
