My top 3 VEO Google alternatives
By Edouard Rosenblum, Co-founder @Secret
Synthesia
If my aim is product enablement or training, I use Synthesia primarily due to its focus on scenes, avatars and reusable content. I will create modules for new hires using scene sequences. Using either a generic stock avatar or a custom/personal avatar, I then have the ability to add text-to-speech over top of that avatar. The interactive nature of "videos" allows me to convert a passive viewing experience into an interactive check-for-understanding process (using quizzes and branching). Additionally, SCORM exports allow me to take these videos and upload them directly to our Learning Management System (LMS).
HeyGen
HeyGen is the one I pick when the job is localization, not cinematic generation. Creator is $29/month with videos up to 30 minutes, 1080p export, brand kit, voice cloning, and “Video Translation with lip sync” across 175+ languages/dialects. Pro ($99/month) adds 4K export, plus higher Premium usage and faster processing. If I’m rolling it out to a team, Business ($149/month) adds commenting, workspace collaboration, SCORM export, and integrations like Zapier, HubSpot, Make, and n8n.
InVideo
InVideo is my “get it produced” option because it combines stock + editing with a credits-based AI pipeline. Paid plans include access to 200+ models (including Veo 3.1 and Sora 2 Pro) and an “invideo v4 agent” that can create up to 30 minutes of video from a single prompt. The credit math is explicit: Basic generation is 2 credits per minute, Pro is 80, Ultra is 160, and adding a Human/Pro actor costs +20 credits per minute. That makes it easier for me to forecast throughput than pure per-minute video limits.

As a co-founder of a bootstrapped startup, we have no budget for video production. I found an amazing offer for Synthesia on Secret. The process to redeem it was instant—I just clicked through from my Secret dashboard, and the discount was applied at checkout. The deal saved us over 30% on our annual plan, which is a huge win for our cash flow. Now, instead of worrying about cameras and microphones, I can create all our product tutorials and investor updates in minutes.

Why is Synthesia a good alternative to VEO Google?
I recommend Synthesia to L&D teams, customer education teams, and internal comms folks who need repeatable videos that stay current. If your work looks like: “every release needs a new onboarding segment” or “every region needs the same training in a different language,” Synthesia’s scene-based editing + avatar format makes updates feel like editing slides, not re-shooting. Enterprise is where it becomes an operations tool: SCORM export fits LMS rollouts, SAML/SSO aligns with IT requirements, and interactive video (quizzes/branching + analytics) turns training into something measurable. For more automation-heavy teams, Creator’s API access is what makes template-driven generation realistic, generate, publish to branded pages, and iterate without rebuilding projects from scratch.
What are the differences between Synthesia and VEO Google?
Veo (Google) is a generative video model you access through Google surfaces, for example via the Gemini API, Vertex AI, or other Google workflows, where the output is primarily “new footage” generated from prompts, often used as short clips or assets. Synthesia is a video production app that’s avatar-led: you build a timeline of scenes, pick an avatar, paste a script, and generate consistent presenter-style output. The pricing model is also different: Synthesia is tiered (Basic free, Starter $29/month, Creator $89/month, Enterprise custom) with plan-gated capabilities like API access and interactive video features. Enterprise adds operational features Veo doesn’t try to be, such as SAML/SSO, brand kits, SCORM export for LMS delivery, and collaboration controls.

Why is HeyGen a good alternative to VEO Google?
HeyGen fits solo creators and marketing teams who want to ship lots of localized “presenter” videos without rebuilding the whole edit per language. I like it for product demos, founder updates, and UGC-style scripts where the visual structure is stable but the language changes weekly. Creator ($29/month) is a practical entry point because it combines 1080p export, brand kit, voice cloning, and translation with lip sync, so I can run a single source script into many markets. Pro ($99/month) is the upgrade I consider when 4K export matters or when Premium usage is the bottleneck. Business ($149/month) makes sense when approvals are the pain: commenting, team management, SCORM export, and integrations (Zapier/HubSpot/Make/n8n) reduce the “export, email, re-upload” loop.
What are the differences between HeyGen and VEO Google?
Veo is strongest when I want a brand-new synthetic shot (a clip that looks filmed) and I’m comfortable working inside Google’s model-driven generation constraints. HeyGen is strongest when I’m producing “talking human” content: Digital Twins, stock avatars, and a studio-style editor where the main output is a presenter video with clean narration. The HeyGen plan boundaries are concrete: Free includes 3 videos/month up to 3 minutes at 720p; Creator is $29/month with videos up to 30 minutes and 1080p export; Pro is $99/month with 4K export; Business is $149/month with videos up to 60 minutes plus collaboration, commenting, and SCORM export. So instead of iterating prompts for shots, I’m iterating scripts, translations, and brand assets.

Usable Templates and Easy Scene Swaps
InVideo has been a solid shortcut for quick promo videos because the template library is actually usable, and I like that I can swap scenes, change aspect ratios, and export for different platforms without rebuilding everything from scratch

Why is InVideo a good alternative to VEO Google?
I suggest InVideo to performance marketers, small agencies, and founders who need volume and speed, not just a single hero clip. The reason is the workflow flexibility: I can keep most scenes on “Basic” (2 credits/min) using stock media, then selectively spend on “Pro” (80 credits/min) or “Ultra” (160 credits/min) only where realism matters. The v4 agent’s ability to draft longer videos (up to 30 minutes from one prompt) is also useful when I’m starting from messy inputs like a landing page, a list of features, or a rough script. Teams that want predictability will appreciate the transparent credit allocation by plan (Plus/Max/Generative at 100/400/1,000 credits per month) and the fact that exporting doesn’t consume credits, generation does.
What are the differences between InVideo and VEO Google?
Veo is a single-generation engine; InVideo is a production layer that can route work across multiple engines and then assemble a finished deliverable. With InVideo, I’m not just generating a clip, I’m choosing a workflow (stock-heavy “Basic” generation vs higher-fidelity “Pro/Ultra”), optionally adding an actor (+20 credits/min), and using the v4 agent to draft longer-form videos (up to 30 minutes from one prompt). InVideo’s constraints show up as credits and model pricing: Plus/Max/Generative plans allocate 100/400/1,000 credits per month, and credits don’t roll over. Veo’s constraints tend to be model-centric (what the model can generate per prompt and where it’s integrated), while InVideo’s constraints are budget/credits-centric across many models, plus stock sourcing (iStock/Storyblocks).
