From my experiences as a candidate and hiring person, I find Indeed to be a relatively good resource that is easy to use for job seekers and for recruiting.
I really appreciated how easy it is to filter job postings by location, salary, and type so I do not have to scroll through a large number of job postings that are not relevant to me. When I was applying to multiple roles, the Easy Apply feature saved me a tremendous amount of time versus the more traditional application process.
As the hiring person on an operational level, Indeed helped me focus on qualified candidates within a relatively short amount of time. I did observe some junk postings from competitors that were misleading and/or vague, as it can be frustrating for the applicants to sift through the clutter.
Despite some minor issues such as fake postings and website glitches, Indeed is the best standalone resource out there. Indeed has significant reach and is convenient. It helps achieve my goal of connecting talented people with good opportunities.

Clunky website performance
At times, the website can experience issues with loading, restarting lists, or delayed message sending, which can be frustrating for users who are in a hurry
Lack of timely feedback
Some users feel that Indeed does not provide timely feedback or give job seekers enough time to respond to job offers before they are given to someone else
Difficulty in contacting customer support
Users have reported difficulty in finding information on how to contact the Indeed team when there's an issue, such as an accounting error, suggesting that customer support could be improved.

Indeed and ZipRecruiter are two leading job platforms designed to help employers find candidates and job seekers discover opportunities. While they both serve the same fundamental purpose, several key differences set them apart, primarily in their approach, features, and user experience.
The most notable difference lies in their job posting and distribution methods. Indeed is a job search engine that aggregates job listings from across the web, allowing employers to post jobs directly on the site. It operates on a pay-per-click model, where employers pay when job seekers click on their listings. Indeed also offers extensive search capabilities for job seekers, enabling them to filter opportunities based on various criteria. On the other hand, ZipRecruiter functions as a job distribution platform. When employers post a job on ZipRecruiter, it is automatically distributed to over 100 job boards, increasing the visibility of the job listing. ZipRecruiter uses a flat-rate pricing model,...

Indeed primarily serves as a job search engine, offering an extensive database of job listings across various industries and locations. Indeed's search functionality allows users to filter and refine job listings based on criteria such as location, job title, salary range, and more, making it easier to find the right job openings.
On the other hand, LinkedIn is primarily a professional networking platform. While it also offers job listings, its core focus is on connecting professionals, building a professional online presence, and fostering industry relationships. LinkedIn allows users to...

Big reach and mobile-friendly applications
What stands out with Indeed is reach. Even when the applicant quality is mixed, there are enough candidates coming through that we can usually build a shortlist without scrambling. I also like that applicants can apply quickly on mobile, which seems to matter a lot for frontline roles

Standardized screening with knockout questions
The platform helped us standardize our early hiring process. We use knockout questions to screen for language skills and work authorization, and that alone reduced a lot of back-and-forth. We also happened to get about €100 in credits through Joinsecret, which made trying a promoted listing feel lower risk

Practical recruiting with screener questions and boosted visibility
What I appreciate most about Indeed is that it works well for practical recruiting. The screener questions help cut down on mismatched applications, and sponsored listings gave us a noticeable bump in visibility when we were hiring in a competitive city. We also had a small hiring budget, so getting around €100 in ad credit through Joinsecret was a nice bonus

Fast postings with same-day applicants
I like Indeed for speed. I can post a role in the morning and usually start seeing relevant applicants the same day. The resume search is useful when inbound applications are light, and the employer dashboard is simple enough that our team actually uses it without training

Steady candidate flow and time-saving screening
We’ve had a good experience with Indeed for hiring support and operations roles, mainly because the candidate flow is steady and the filtering questions save time before we even open a CV. It’s not magic, but for high-volume roles it’s been one of the more reliable channels we’ve used

Quick traction signals with clear analytics
Indeed is one of the few hiring platforms where I can usually tell within a week whether a role is getting traction. The analytics are straightforward, so it’s easy to adjust a title or budget if a listing underperforms. I wouldn’t rely on it alone for executive hiring, but for mid-level and entry-level positions it’s been consistently worth using

Easy all-in-one hiring for small teams
For a small company without a dedicated recruiter, Indeed is easy to manage. Posting jobs, reviewing applicants, and inviting people to apply all happen in one place, which keeps things moving. We found a few strong admin candidates there, and the extra €100 we got through Joinsecret covered part of our first campaign, which was genuinely useful

Reliable volume plus built-in messaging and scheduling
I’ve used Indeed at two different companies, and in both cases it delivered enough volume to justify keeping it in the mix. The interview scheduling tools are basic but helpful, and the messaging inside the platform makes follow-up easier than juggling email threads. Not perfect for very niche senior roles, but strong for mainstream hiring

Strong local hiring with effective location targeting
Indeed has been solid for local hiring. We used it to recruit warehouse staff and customer service reps, and the location targeting helped a lot. You still need to write a clear job post or you’ll get noise, but once we tightened that up, the quality improved. We also got a €100 credit via Joinsecret, which helped us test sponsored posts without overcommitting

€100 Credits for Keyword & Salary Experiments
We used the €100 Joinsecret Indeed Credits on a niche posting and it helped us test keywords and salary range without feeling like we were burning budget, the learning from that first week was worth more than the credit
