  Efficient Wetland Form Solution with Added Benefits

  My experience with Wildnote has been largely positive. The younger members of our team have readily adopted it, while the older ones, although sticking to their traditional methods, appreciate the clean forms it produces. We've found that Wildnote helps new wetland scientists learn the delineation procedure without missing any steps, ensuring our forms are complete. It also saves us time as we no longer need to transcribe our field notes to digital forms. Setting up Wildnote is quite straightforward and it's incredibly useful in the field for wetland delineations, particularly for those new to the field. The comprehensive list of plant names it provides is invaluable. We save a lot of time on form finalization as most of the form is already filled out! It also helps maintain consistency among our staff as we all now complete the same form in the same manner. We've run into some issues with the plant lists not being entirely accurate or lacking some plants we expected to be included. However, we've been able to make requests to address this.

  User-friendly and Reliable Software Solution

  As a user and administrator of gssn, I use the reporting feature daily for tasks such as filling out reports and creating new projects and surveys. I have also beta tested certain features and collaborated with the Wildnote team to resolve any issues that have arisen. I have trained my colleagues on how to use the software and I appreciate the ease with which I can switch between devices and computers while still being able to access all my information. The software is effective for both individual users and teams sharing responsibilities. I particularly appreciate that the photos from each report are saved and easy to locate, which is beneficial for presentations. However, the software can be glitchy and has crashed in the past, which can deter those who are hesitant about technology. There have also been problems with report duplication when bugs occur. Despite these issues, I have received continuous support from the Wildnote team, who are dedicated to improving the platform and fixing bugs.

  Diving into Wildnote: A User's Perspective

  I have a few team members who primarily handle updating our files and reports using gssn, so my hands-on experience with it is limited. However, I do appreciate the software and our clients are satisfied with the final product. I value its ability to provide a platform for field reporting and uploading photos. It's quite user-friendly, particularly when I use it on a computer. I find it a bit more difficult to use on an iPad or phone, so I prefer using it on a computer. I've encountered an issue where I lose information if I forget to save a report or if I put it down without saving. I've also had issues attaching larger documents in the past, although I haven't tried recently. I suspect that attaching multiple photos or documents might impact the saving capability. The vendor responded to my feedback, suggesting that I could still gather field data the old-fashioned way and then input it into the web platform. They also advised that regular saving is crucial.
