My top 3 Happay alternatives
By Jean-Loup Karst, Co-founder @Secret
Xero
Xero is another excellent alternative. It's primarily an accounting software but also includes features for expense management. With Xero, businesses can track their expenses, pay bills, and even handle payroll. For example, a small business owner can use Xero to keep track of all business-related expenses and ensure they are categorized correctly for tax purposes.
Expensify
Expensify is a user-friendly option that makes expense reporting simple and efficient. It offers receipt scanning, corporate card reconciliation, and next-day reimbursement. A traveling salesperson, for instance, could use Expensify to quickly scan receipts while on the road, making it easier to submit an accurate expense report at the end of the trip.
SAP Concur
SAP Concur is a user-friendly and reliable alternative to Happay, offering a complete set of tools for managing expenses efficiently. With SAP Concur, users can easily capture receipts, approve expense reports, and even track unused tickets. For example, businesses can simplify their expense reporting process by allowing employees to directly upload receipt images into the platform. This saves valuable time by eliminating the hassle of collecting physical receipts and manually entering data. On the whole, SAP Concur provides a convenient, intuitive solution that significantly streamlines expense management workflows.

We moved our agency to Xero mainly for collaboration with our external accountant, and that part has been excellent. They can jump in at any time, leave notes, and review reconciliations without us sending files back and forth. The reporting pack is good for monthly reviews, particularly profit and loss and aged receivables, though I would not mind more built in management report layouts

Why is Xero a good alternative to Happay?
I find Happay to be a great alternative to Xero for several reasons. Firstly, it offers an all-in-one platform for expense management, which simplifies the whole process of tracking and managing business expenses. It's not just about accounting, but also about providing solutions for travel and expense management. Secondly, Happay has a user-friendly interface, making it easy even for non-tech savvy individuals to navigate through. Thirdly, it integrates seamlessly with other systems and software, ensuring smooth data flow across different platforms. Lastly, Happay provides real-time visibility into expenses, which helps in making informed financial decisions. In contrast to Xero, Happay offers a more comprehensive solution for businesses.
What are the differences between Xero and Happay?
I have found that Happay and Xero offer different services tailored to specific business needs. Happay is a spend management system designed to streamline business expenses, travel, and invoice processes. It provides real-time visibility and control over business spending, making it easier to manage expenses, approvals, reimbursements, and accounting.
On the other hand, Xero is an online accounting software for small businesses. It offers features like invoicing, bank reconciliation, bookkeeping and more. Xero allows businesses to maintain their accounts efficiently and interact with their accountants or financial advisors in real-time.
In essence, while both tools aid in financial management for businesses, Happay focuses more on controlling and managing expenses while Xero concentrates on overall accounting needs.
Expensify is an expense management solution that helps streamline the way you handle your financial transactions. With Expensify, you can easily track expenses, capture receipts, and manage reports, all in one user-friendly platform.

Utilized Expensify for my NY Trip
I used Expensify for my job interview trip to NY. All my expenses including airfare, meals, hotel, Airbnb, and car transportation were managed through my Expensify account. I was reimbursed the next day after my trip as all my expenditures were transparent to my prospective employer.

Why is Expensify a good alternative to Happay?
I find Happay to be a fantastic alternative to Expensify for several reasons. Firstly, Happay provides real-time expense tracking, which is incredibly helpful for managing business finances. It also offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface, making it easy for anyone to navigate and use. Secondly, Happay excels in terms of its customer service. The support team is always responsive and ready to assist with any issues or queries. Thirdly, Happay's pricing is competitive, offering a good value for the features provided. Lastly, the integration capabilities of Happay are impressive. It seamlessly integrates with various accounting software which makes it versatile and convenient for businesses of all sizes. Therefore, I believe that these features make Happay a strong contender in the market and a great alternative to Expensify.
What are the differences between Expensify and Happay?
Comparing these 2 applications, I can say that Happay and Expensify are both great tools for managing business expenses, but they do have some key differences. Happay is an India-based company that offers expense management solutions, primarily for businesses in India. It provides a prepaid Visa card for employees to use for business expenses, which can then be tracked and managed within the Happay platform. For its part, Expensify is a global company that offers a more comprehensive set of features, including receipt scanning, mileage tracking, and integration with accounting software. While both platforms offer mobile apps, Expensify's app is more advanced with features like automatic receipt scanning. However, Happay's strength lies in its robust approval workflow and policy enforcement capabilities.
Airbase is a comprehensive spend management platform designed to optimize and automate the procure-to-pay process for businesses. It consolidates tasks such as accounts payable automation, corporate card management, and global expense reporting into one unified system.

Effortless Operation with Airbase
My overall experience with Airbase has been fantastic. It has allowed us to close more accurately and promptly. We no longer have difficulties determining the expenditure on various cards as they have all been pre-categorized. Despite the initial setup taking a bit longer, it's worth it for the precision. The best feature of Airbase is its seamless integration with QBO. This enables me to establish prepaids on Airbase that automatically sync to QBO for a monthly close. Cards are automatically programmed to charge a specific GL code, removing the need to revisit monthly to determine the expenditure and where to charge it. However, when making some entries, it doesn't adopt a new naming convention but uses the most recent journal entry naming convention for the journal entry title, which can be confusing. We switched to Airbase because we desired more accuracy, promptness, and a comprehensive product.

Why is Airbase a good alternative to Happay?
I believe Happay is a great alternative to Airbase due to several reasons. Firstly, Happay offers a comprehensive expense management solution that includes travel and expense management, fleet and fuel management, and prepaid cards for employees. This makes it a one-stop solution for all business expense needs. Secondly, Happay's user-friendly interface and mobile app make it easy for employees to track and submit expenses on the go. Thirdly, Happay provides real-time visibility into expenses, which helps in better budgeting and cost control. Lastly, Happay's robust reporting and analytics tools provide valuable insights into spending patterns, helping businesses make informed decisions. Therefore, for its comprehensive features, ease of use, real-time visibility, and insightful analytics, I consider Happay a good alternative to Airbase.
What are the differences between Airbase and Happay?
As a user of both Happay and Airbase, I've noticed several differences between the two. Happay is an India-based expense management solution designed primarily for businesses in India. It offers features like prepaid cards for business expenses, automated expense reports, and policy compliance checks. On the other hand, Airbase is a US-based spend management platform that provides a broader range of services. It combines approvals, corporate cards, bill payments, accounting automation, and reporting all in one place. While both offer expense management solutions, Airbase provides a more comprehensive suite of services that can handle more aspects of a company's expenditures. Additionally, Airbase's integration with accounting systems is more robust compared to Happay. However, Happay's localized services might be more suitable for businesses operating primarily in India.

Exploring the Strengths and Weaknesses of SAP Concur
Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with SAP Concur. I don't travel often, so the time it takes to book and report expenses is bearable. As an admin, setting up new users can be complicated and I can't do it without notes, but this could be more related to my company's policies than the software itself. Reimbursing expenses is simple and practical. However, the online booking feature can be time-consuming. When I select flights and try to book, another screen appears with alternative flights, which extends the process.
