01 Is SimpleTexting any Good? My expert Review
After using SimpleTexting for approximately eight months as an SMS marketing tool for my small retail business, I am torn in my assessment of this service.
On the one hand, the interface is very easy to navigate and use. In fact, I was able to create and launch my first campaign in under twenty minutes; and, I did so without viewing any tutorials - which was nice. I also really like the two way messaging feature of the platform that allows me to confirm appointments at my boutique through the phone, and has reduced the number of "no shows" by nearly thirty percent.
On the other hand, I feel the pricing structure for growing businesses is somewhat restrictive. I began using the base plan (which included fifty contacts) however when I reached over 200 subscribers my monthly fee almost tripled. This increase was more difficult to rationalize than I would have thought. I also found the scheduling features adequate for sending promotional messages on a standard schedule, however, I found the segmentation options for sending targeted messages based upon past purchases were extremely limited. Ultimately, I had to export data from the service to another tool in order to be able to send these types of messages.
Overall, I have found the customer support to be very good and responsive. They generally respond to inquiries within a couple of hours, which I greatly appreciate. To summarize, SimpleTexting meets its claim of providing straightforward SMS marketing, but businesses that need more advanced automation may outgrow this service fairly quickly. While the service is fine for creating and launching simple campaigns, the depth that some power users may require is lacking.
