My top 3 folk CRM alternatives
By Mary O'Brien, Customer Success Manager
HubSpot
I use HubSpot when I am looking for a CRM that ties pipeline activity to the actual action being taken by your business – booking meetings, live chats, deal tracking are all done in conjunction with automation. I also really like using the Sales Hub Pro version of the product combined with an automated workflow where a form fill will start a series of tasks and/or outreach – it eliminates the need to build another zap for each step in the workflow. When a team member wants to know if they are “on track” – I would much prefer to have AI driven forecasting vs. exporting their data into a spreadsheet. If the sales process includes anything beyond contacts, companies, deals etc… then you have the option to create custom objects within Sales Hub Enterprise to allow modeling of renewals, territory or product as a first class record. The conversation intelligence is something I miss most when I’m coaching my reps based off of actual conversations.
Pipedrive
Pipedrive gives me a pipeline-first workspace plus specific sales mechanics like full email sync with tracking (Growth) and built-in contracts with e-signatures (Premium). I also like that LeadBooster is positioned as the inbound/outbound capture layer that can route leads to reps. The AI Sales Assistant is unusually actionable: it can flag “Deal Rotting,” suggest Smart Contact Data, and show win-probability predictions so I’m not treating every deal the same. Pricing is straightforward per seat, starting at $14 (Lite) and stepping through $39 (Growth), $59 (Premium), and $79 (Ultimate) on annual billing.
Copper
Copper is the alternative I shortlist when the team already runs on Google Workspace and wants CRM activity to mirror Gmail and Google Calendar behavior. Copper lists Gmail/Calendar/Contacts/Drive integrations as included across plans, which is the difference between “CRM as a separate app” and “CRM as your inbox history.” On Starter you get tasks and an activity feed with a 1,000-contact cap, while Basic adds pipelines plus contact enrichment at 2,500 contacts. If I need automation and outbound, Professional adds workflow automation, bulk email, reporting, and a 15,000-contact limit; Business removes caps and adds email series, custom reports, and multi-currency.

Why is HubSpot a good alternative to folk CRM?
I recommend HubSpot when the buyer is a small-to-mid team that’s outgrown “shared contacts” and wants one system to run marketing, sales, and service handoffs without stitching three tools together. If you need a real sales org shape, things like custom objects for non-standard records, AI lead scoring, or conversation intelligence for call coaching, Sales Hub Enterprise is designed for that kind of structure. I also like HubSpot for teams that care about measuring the pipeline with forecasting rather than just visualizing columns, because the positioning around AI-powered forecasting is baked into the Sales Hub Professional story. If folk’s “basic pipelines” start to feel limiting and you’re adding separate tools for sequences, call recording, quotes, or permissions, HubSpot is the alternative where those pieces are meant to live under the same account and billing model.
What are the differences between HubSpot and folk CRM?
folk is priced and packaged like a lightweight relationship CRM with sales add-ons (Standard at $24/member/month billed yearly; Premium at $48/member/month billed yearly) and it leans on a LinkedIn extension, email campaigns, contact enrichment, “Magic fields (AI),” and email/calendar/WhatsApp sync. HubSpot is structured as a hub-based customer platform where Sales Hub explicitly scales into Enterprise features like custom objects, AI lead scoring, and conversation intelligence, and the pricing ladder is seat-based with Starter starting at $15/seat/month, Professional at $100/seat/month, and Enterprise at $150/seat/month. In practice, I think of folk as “track the relationship + run campaigns,” while HubSpot is “run the revenue system,” because Sales Hub is designed to sit alongside marketing and service tooling rather than just contact lists and pipelines.

Pipedrive provides a clear and practical way to manage leads, deals, activities, and follow-ups in one sales workspace. The visual pipeline makes it easy to understand where each opportunity stands, identify stalled conversations, and keep the next action visible for the team. Email synchronization, templates, activity reminders, reporting, and workflow automations reduce manual CRM work and help maintain a more consistent sales process. It also complements Google Workspace well: business email and calendars can remain in Google Workspace while relevant conversations, contacts, meetings, and deal history are organized in Pipedrive. The platform works best when pipeline stages and data-entry standards are defined early, but it is a strong CRM for keeping sales operations structured as the business grows

Why is Pipedrive a good alternative to folk CRM?
I’d put Pipedrive in front of a sales-led SMB that wants the CRM to behave like a to-do list for closing deals: a pipeline, scheduled activities, and a clear next action per opportunity. The Growth plan’s combination of full email sync with tracking, automations, and nurturing sequences is the “minimum viable sales machine” I look for when a founder stops sending every follow-up manually. Premium is where it becomes a closer-to-end-to-end system: LeadBooster-style lead capture/routing, custom scoring with enrichment, AI-assisted email tooling, and e-signatures for quotes/proposals reduce the number of external tools you need. If you want AI that’s not just copywriting, the Sales Assistant’s win-probability predictions and stale-deal prompts are directly tied to pipeline movement.
What are the differences between Pipedrive and folk CRM?
folk’s Standard plan bundles pipeline management, email campaigns, enrichment, AI assistants, and a LinkedIn extension, and Premium adds custom objects & deals, email sequences, dashboards, and API access. Pipedrive is more explicitly organized around sales execution tiers: Lite includes lead/calendar/pipeline management plus AI-powered report creation, Growth adds full email sync with tracking and nurturing sequences, and Premium adds lead generation and routing, custom scoring with company data enrichment, AI-assisted email tools, and contracts with e-signatures. The AI layer also feels different: folk’s AI is presented as assistants/fields, while Pipedrive’s AI Sales Assistant focuses on pipeline outcomes like win-probability predictions and stale-deal nudges (“Deal Rotting”).

Why is Copper a good alternative to folk CRM?
I usually suggest Copper to teams that live in Gmail and Google Calendar and don’t want “CRM time” to feel like a separate administrative ritual. Copper explicitly positions its Gmail/Calendar/Contacts/Drive integrations as included across plans, which matters if you want automatic activity history without paying extra modules. It also fits ops-minded agencies and consultancies that need pipelines plus internal coordination: Basic introduces pipelines and task automation with contact enrichment, and Professional adds workflow automation, bulk email, reporting, and higher contact limits before you jump to Business for unlimited contacts and email series. If folk is primarily being used for relationship tracking and enrichment, Copper is a strong alternative when leadership asks for more structured pipeline process and reporting while keeping the day-to-day anchored in Google Workspace.
What are the differences between Copper and folk CRM?
Both folk and Copper aim at “CRM where you already work,” but they anchor on different daily surfaces. folk emphasizes multi-channel sync (it explicitly calls out email, calendar & WhatsApp sync) plus a LinkedIn extension, and it mixes CRM with outbound via email campaigns/sequences depending on plan. Copper is much more opinionated about Google Workspace as the operating system: it states Gmail/Google Calendar/Google Contacts/Google Drive integrations are included with all plans, and its tiers are framed around contact limits (1,000 on Starter, 2,500 on Basic, 15,000 on Professional, unlimited on Business) plus workflow automation and bulk email at Professional. If I’m choosing between them, I treat folk as “relationship + enrichment + lightweight pipelines” and Copper as “Google-native pipeline + automation with hard usage caps that force plan decisions.”
