01 Is Norton AntiVirus any Good? My expert Review
As a professional tester of anti-virus solutions, I feel as though I've had good experiences with Norton Antivirus overall. When I reviewed Norton Antivirus, I discussed how Norton's comprehensive way of dealing with cybersecurity challenges was interesting. For example, when I provided security for a business client’s network, I saw that Norton provided good protection covering several devices, and was able to prevent malware and phished information from making its way into confidential material.
I enjoy Norton's ability to identify threats in real-time. Most recently, while acting as part of a routine security checking for this client, Norton detected an attempted ransomware attack before my client had a chance to make any changes, and was able to shut it down. If I did not have Norton, I may not have been able to identify the issue, and I could have lost significant data, downtime, and headaches. Such an event gave me a good deal of trust in the software and enabled me to continue to refer this product for individual use and for businesses.
That said, I had a couple of minor struggles with installing Norton Antivirus. One time, when I was trying to install Norton on a client's old laptop, the installation was quite a long process as it went through compatibility checks and resource use, which was very burdensome. Support staff ended up resolving the issues, but this made me think there should be easier instructions for install. For someone who may not be very tech-savvy, the instructions can get complicated, and an easier install may improve the experience.
I mean, I appreciate Norton’s suite of features but think there is essentially redundancy as it relates to their subscription offerings. When I had clients view their options, they have sometimes become confused about which subscription was right for them seemingly because features were repeated as options in two subscriptions. Perhaps there is a way to offer clearer explanations for consumers.
In conclusion, even with these minor hiccups with install and redundant features in subscription offerings, I continue to strongly recommend Norton Antivirus. Consistent malware protection paired with a user-friendly interface, as well as low-cost plans for many devices, makes Norton a very strong candidate for cybersecurity protection.
