01 Is QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise any Good? My expert Review
As someone who has worked with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise as a consultant in diverse industries, I have found it to be a stable and functional accounting solution, especially for small and medium-sized businesses that need strong but not complicated accounting tools. The layout is easy to navigate, and quick to learn, even for teams that do not consider themselves technically inclined.
For example, one of my mid-sized manufacturing clients had considerably better results with budgeting and financial oversight, after they switched to QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. That along with the seamless integration with their third-party inventory management systems put them so far ahead that I actually saved them time during double-entry accounting!
That being said, it is not without some growing pains. Recently, I was working with a retail business experiencing significant growth and needing advanced inventory tracking features such as bar coding and lot tracking; and unfortunately, QuickBooks did not meet their needs. Consequently, the client identified either business process or external software changes to bridge the gap in functionality. As note, responsiveness from QuickBooks support was mediocre at best. I remember the frustrations of having issues when closing out the books for the year and becoming anxious waiting several days for assistance.
Overall, I would have to say my experience was mostly positive. I am confident I can recommend QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise on the merits it provides stable performance at a reasonable cost and would recommend it for businesses seeking solid products for performance without unnecessary complexity.

I switched from waveaccounting.com to QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise because I needed a software that supports 1099 and allows for an independent contractor account. While the customer service was excellent, the actual use of the software was more frustrating than I expected. The controls and automation feature often got things wrong, so I found it best to start from scratch and set up the account to suit my company's needs. One of the main reasons I chose QuickBooks was for its integrations, particularly with Zapier. This integration saves me hours each week by automating tasks like adding customers and following up on invoices and payments, and it allows my CRM to communicate with my other apps. I would recommend QuickBooks, but it does require patience. A better onboarding process would greatly reduce the frustration for those of us who need to get up and running quickly. Overall, I believe it's a good software but it has room for improvement.

I find QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise useful until I need to do anything automated or advanced, or if I need to contact their support. It offers integrations and is a standard for small businesses. However, their support is almost useless. There's no longer a higher tier of support for Enterprise users. I've experienced being on hold for a simple issue, being transferred multiple times, verifying my information repeatedly, and spending over an hour on the phone. I was even told that my request wasn't possible. This is my usual experience whenever I call their support.
