01 Is QuickBooks any Good? My expert Review

I have experience using multiple accounting software programs, and I still have to admit I love Quickbooks. It is truly a simple product for small to medium-sized companies. I helped a local Hackney store move from a decades-old process of spreadsheets to QuickBooks Desktop Pro, and the quality of processes like invoicing, payment tracking, and expense management improved immeasurably. No other software needed, no fuss.

The significance of QuickBooks is the organization feature. I had a construction company change over to QuickBooks, and their records were a mess. Lost estimates, delayed payments, etc. With QuickBooks, they were able to establish automatic reminders for payments, and with their records evidently in order, they reduced delays and eased their cash flow dilemma.

That said, there are some challenges. The development from QuickBooks desktop to online was more complicated than it ought to have been. We spent an amount of hours transferring an amount of old data due to an amount of issues and support was not as smooth as we expected. Also, some of the functions we were used to being easy on desktop were not quite so easy on line initially, which was disappointing.

Still yet, I keep coming back to QuickBooks - it simply works for certain jobs, especially at Tax time. A consulting company I worked with (last year) could produce accurate reports with their records so tax time was less painstaking.

Yes, it is not without some improvements (support, transitions/redevelopment of features, etc.), however, if you are looking to manage your business accounts in a responsible manner, while maintaining some sanity - I would suggest giving Quickbooks a try.

04 How QuickBooks compare to similar software?

HoneyBook and QuickBooks are both powerful tools for managing various aspects of business operations, catering to a wide range of industries and business sizes. However, there are several key differences between the platforms that are important to consider when deciding which is right for your business.

Gusto and QuickBooks are both powerful tools for managing your business's financial affairs, but they have distinct differences that cater to varying business needs.

One of the primary differences between Gusto and QuickBooks is their core focus. Gusto primarily excels in payroll and HR management. It provides an intuitive platform for handling employee payroll, tax calculations, and compliance with labor laws. It simplifies tasks like onboarding, benefits management, and employee self-service. In contrast, QuickBooks is a comprehensive accounting software that encompasses a broader range of financial management tasks. It offers features for invoicing, expense tracking, financial reporting, and tax preparation.

Another key distinction lies in their pricing models. Gusto's pricing is primarily based on the number of employees, and it includes payroll processing, tax filings, and HR features. QuickBooks, on the other hand, offers different pricing tiers based on the level of financial...

When comparing the two tools, Zoho Books and Quickbooks, it is difficult to identify a single main difference. In fact, while the two accounting platforms offer relatively similar and comprehensive functionality, they differ in two main respects. The first difference is that Zoho Books really comes into its own when integrated with the other software offered by Zoho. The second difference is the target audience. This is because while Zoho Books is perfect for smaller businesses that don't have time to waste, Quickbook is relevant for businesses that are starting to grow. Let's find out more about this together.

Let's go back to the first difference: integrations. Quickbooks offers over 650 integrations with third-party software. As a result, the tool integrates easily with existing business workflows. Zoho, on the other hand, offers a much smaller number of third-party integrations. However, this accounting software interfaces seamlessly with tools such as Zoho Workplace, Zoho CRM...

All-in-One Tools for a Growing Business

QuickBooks works well for a growing business that needs more than just invoicing. We use estimates, sales receipts, and purchase order tracking, and having those tied into the accounting side saves time. Support can be hit or miss, but the product itself covers a lot without feeling too heavy

Stronger Reporting With Class Tracking and VAT

We moved to QuickBooks from a more basic invoicing tool, and the difference in reporting is noticeable. Class tracking has been useful for seeing which part of the business is actually profitable, and the VAT handling is better than I expected. I found a 6-month discount through Joinsecret when signing up, which was a nice bonus but not really the main reason we stayed

Billable Expenses Converted to Invoices Easily

What I like most about QuickBooks is how easy it is to separate billable expenses and turn them into invoices. That has helped us stop missing small charges that used to slip through. The learning curve was there at first, but once the chart of accounts was set up properly, daily use became pretty simple

Reliable Receipt Capture and Mobile Expense Tracking

QuickBooks has been reliable for keeping our books in one place, especially with receipt capture and expense tracking. The mobile app is handy when I am out of the office, and syncing is usually smooth. I also happened to get a reduced rate for the first 6 months through Joinsecret, which made trying it feel pretty low risk

Cleaner Reporting and Easy Tax Exports

I started using QuickBooks when we needed cleaner reporting for our accountant. The profit and loss and balance sheet reports are easy to customize, and exporting everything at tax time is straightforward. It is not perfect, but it is much more organized than the spreadsheet system we had before

    Faster Month-End With Bank Rules

QuickBooks has made month-end a lot less painful for our small team. The bank feed usually pulls transactions correctly, and the rule system saves me from recategorizing the same expenses every week. I still double-check payroll entries, but overall it has cut down a lot of manual work

Quick Bank Matching and Faster Reconciliations

For day-to-day bookkeeping, QuickBooks is solid. Matching bank transactions is fast, attaching receipts to expenses keeps everything tidy, and reconciling accounts at the end of the month takes less time now. I also got one of those Joinsecret offers that lowered the cost for the first half year, which helped while we were still setting things up

50% Off Promo + Easy Deposit Matching & A/R Visibility

Desktop-to-Online Migration with Multi-User Audit Trail

Receipts capture is genuinely useful, I snap a photo, it suggests the vendor and category, and even if it’s not perfect it gets me 80% there, then I just spot check before reconciliation

Photo Receipts Capture That Speeds Categorization

I grabbed a Quickbooks Promo Code: 50% off through Joinsecret when I started, and it made it easier to commit to the higher tier I needed for tracking locations, the discount was nice but the real win was having cleaner books from day one
