I found the quick survey creation and swift result collection with smartsurvey very convenient. I came across this platform while working on my dissertation and considering my options. Like other platforms, I found it simple and easy to use, providing me with great control over the layout and question format. Even as a beginner, I was able to easily navigate the platform and experiment with all its features. I found it quite straightforward to create surveys, collect results, and even export and download the results in various formats. However, I faced an issue when I wanted to format the text of the questions, such as bolding important points. For some reason, I was unable to do this and had to leave it out.

I have a highly positive opinion of SmartSurvey. It provides all the necessary features for academic research and has flexible plans, which is especially useful for students and individual academic researchers like me. The software is very user-friendly and lends a professional appearance to the surveys. I didn't face any problems, except for initially not understanding how the program categorized complete and incomplete surveys. However, after reaching out, I got a response with the answer to my query the next morning. I opted for SmartSurvey over other products because, although they also offer academic pricing, they demand payment for a full year, unlike SmartSurvey which allows payment only for the duration you need it.

User-friendly Interface and Excellent Customer Support

I find creating high-quality surveys with SmartSurvey to be straightforward and it allows me to reach a large number of people. I use it to gather opinions from both my employees and customers, setting up several surveys with various response formats. The dashboard is user-friendly and I appreciate the option to use pre-programmed questions and my own corporate template. The response formats are professional and the skip logic is easy to implement. There are detailed online guides for each stage of creating and using the survey, and the customer service is quick to respond when I need extra help. However, I noticed that it doesn't seem possible to customize the formatting of text within a question, such as italic, bold, paragraphs, etc. This would be a useful feature. In response to my feedback, the vendor informed me that there is an 'enable editor' button in the bottom right corner when editing a question, which activates all.

I recently decided to upgrade to the business plan of SmartSurvey, intrigued by the product literature that suggested the software could support a specific question piping use case that I needed. After making the upgrade, I discovered that the functionality was slightly different than what I had envisioned. However, I took this as an opportunity to explore the other features of the Business plan, which I had access to since the upgrade date. While it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I was impressed by the range of features and tools available. It's clear that SmartSurvey has a lot to offer, and I was able to make use of the Business plan for a few days to assess its functionality. I think it's important to remember that sometimes, things might not turn out exactly as we expect, but that doesn't mean we can't make the most of the situation. I would encourage anyone considering an upgrade to think carefully about their specific needs and expectations. But remember, even if the software doesn't deliver exactly what you expected, there's a whole world of features waiting for you to explore. So, dive in and make the most of it!
