Through years of interacting with a large number of survey tools, I have had many opportunities to thoroughly examine Typeform. Most recently, I worked on a market research project for a startup, where I found Typeform to be uniquely capable of engaging respondents. I found their easy-to-use interface helped me to quickly produce surveys that look great and were very easy to legibly navigate, leading to an impressive increase in response rates compared to the past survey tools I had used.
One thing that I find excellent about Typeform is that they go out of their way to support researchers. In particular, I collaborated on a public health awareness survey during COVID-19 and Typeform provided us with pro accounts to aid our work. That level of generosity shows the commitment of Typeform to not only commercial users, but also to fairly altruistic social purposes.
That being said, this review would have been incomplete if I did not share some frustrations I had while using Typeform. First, while I like the stylish templates and basic customization, I found myself wanting to create a customized look on a few occasions. For instance, I was conducting a branding survey for a client, and while I was able to use their logo colors, I could not create their exact brand look, which was due to basic customization features.
Additionally, I was frustrated every time I lost respondents' valuable insights because of Typeform's inability to save partial responses at times. This was particularly frustrating during a few longer surveys where I was asking respondents to give me detailed consumer feedback on products. Lastly, customer service was slightly too slow for my liking; on a few occasions I had dealt with billing issues on behalf of a client and did not receive proper assistance after investing a lot of time and effort until a response finally arrived.
Overall though, despite these drawbacks, Typeform is still one of my favorite survey platforms because of its ease-of use, nice presentation style and in-depth analytics, not to mention because of its features which made it viable on almost all research-feedback gathering occasions.
Brand recognition

User-friendly interface
The software has a very user-friendly interface, making it easy to set up new surveys and distribute them. It is also compatible with nearly any device that can access the internet
Multiple submissions by a single respondent
Typeform does not restrict a single respondent from submitting multiple responses, which can skew the data and potentially harm the credibility of the survey results.
Poor customer service
Numerous users have reported issues with Typeform's customer service, including difficulty in contacting them and lack of assistance with billing issues
Lack of partial responses storage
Typeform does not store partial or incomplete responses, which can result in loss of valuable data if a respondent does not complete the survey
Limited customization
While Typeform offers a visually appealing platform, it could offer more sophistication in terms of customization, limiting the user's ability to fully tailor the survey to their needs
High cost
Despite its user-friendly interface and adaptability, Typeform can be quite costly, especially for small businesses or individual users

Conversational Webinar Registration with Fewer Drop-Offs
We switched a webinar registration flow to Typeform and saw fewer drop-offs, probably because the form feels conversational, and getting a small annual discount on the Professional tier through Joinsecret was a nice bonus rather than the main reason

Worthwhile Despite Higher Cost at Scale
Typeform is not the cheapest tool once your response volume grows, but the template library, conditional branching, and easy embedding saved us enough setup time that it still feels worth keeping

Beautiful and efficient
"I discovered Typeform while looking for an alternative to the classic Google forms that clearly lack personality, and the difference is immediate. The one-question-at-a-time format makes the experience much more pleasant for respondents - very minimalist. Building is intuitive, the templates are well made and the final result is genuinely polished, which makes a real difference when you send a form to clients or prospects. I would have liked a bit more ease with conditional logic in response flows; some slightly complex use cases require quite a few workarounds. Worth trying!"
