As a Dynamics 365 consultant, I have been able to evaluate the functionality and capabilities of the tool in relation to a number of business scenarios. Overall, I have had a positive evaluation of Dynamics 365 based on its strong CRM functionality as well as usability. For instance, I have worked on the implementation of Dynamics 365 for a mid-size sales organization. In the implementation, I observed how Dynamics 365 improved lead management and how much clearer visibility into the sales pipeline was. The dashboards were easy for the sales teams to pull real-time data of clients with a few clicks, and their productivity greatly increased.
Another strength I have experienced Dynamics 365 is its ability for reporting and analytics capabilities. I worked on a project for a large retail organization and assisted them in obtaining current sales performance reporting and visibility via Dynamics 365 advanced reporting capabilities. When the reports were created, it assisted management in quickly assessing and discerning trends and influenced strategy decision-making on how to ensure growth in revenue.
However, I have also experienced point of concern. In another project, I integrated Dynamics 365 to an existing ERP system for example, when I was tasked with synchronizing the data in Dynamics 365 and the ERP, it was not easy, this led to additional customization and prolonged project work and even refining how it integrated with existing ERP systems.
While going through this project, I also worked with a customer service group who were utilizing the telephony options and features of Dynamics 365. Contention with connections would sometimes influence the quality of calls. Although I was able to address any connection quality issues and obstructions through troubleshooting and updates, there were occasions where the connection quality issues appeared to be an obstruction with workflow.
In spite of these small flaws of Dynamics 365, I still see it as an outstanding tool for any organization that is looking for a full functioning CRM system. All of its attributes in its usability, analytics and collecting and accessing any data within a single platform outweigh the negative events I have experience with ERP integration and telephony issues.
