-
Affordable: Compared to custom software development, Formsite is a cost-effective solution for building forms. It is also affordable to maintain, making it a good choice for small to medium-sized businesses
-
Integration capabilities: Formsite can integrate with other commonly used software programs, enhancing its functionality. It also supports Zapier integrations, providing more power when used with automation platforms like Hubspot for marketing or Google Sheets for workflows
-
Customizable: Formsite allows for customization of forms, notifications, and success pages. It also offers the ability to decide the fields to be shown on each form and has an auto-reply feature. This level of customization makes it adaptable to various business needs.
Cons from reviewers
-
Limited SharePoint integration: Despite its ability to integrate with commonly used software programs, Formsite's integration with SharePoint is not seamless. It tends to break randomly, requiring manual reconnection, and primarily supports OneDrive integration for results documents
-
Single form limitation for save and return feature: Formsite's save and return feature is useful, but it only works for a single form. This makes it impossible to create a form library under one account
-
Limited customization and user permissions: Formsite has limitations in customization and user permissions are limited, making it less flexible for more complex needs
-
Outdated design and limited field verification options: The design of the forms can seem outdated and not as responsive on mobile devices. There are also limited advanced field verification options, such as matching zip codes to cities and verifying social security numbers
-
Complexity in form creation and field definition: Creating a form from scratch can be burdensome and the terminology used to define the fields can be perplexing. This can make the initial learning curve steep for new users.

Effortless Form Capture with Formsite
I tried using Formsite, primarily as an intake form in our marketing department for detailing creative work orders, but had limited success. It performed well for basic webforms, collecting contact data, and customer surveys. I would recommend it for small to medium sized businesses looking to create webforms and gather data through Zapier integrations to more powerful platforms. Setting up web forms for lead capture, surveys, and contact data is straightforward and the administrative backend is user-friendly. Navigating Formsite's main features doesn't require much training and setting up basic forms is quick and easy. Zapier integrations provide more power when Formsite is used with automation platforms like Hubspot for marketing or Google Sheets for "if this then that" workflows. However, Formsite has limitations in customization and user permissions are limited, but still usable and scalable.

Formsite's Save & Return Feature: A Key to Powerful Form Building
I had a good experience using Formsite to build forms. It was a quick and cost-effective solution for meeting my clients' needs compared to custom software development. I would suggest others to consider it among other form building software systems. I found the save and return feature very useful as it allowed me to create a form that users could come back to check their results and status. However, this feature only works for a single form, so it's not possible to create a form "library" under one account. Despite this, I chose Formsite because the save and return feature was vital for my clients, and I had previous positive experiences with the platform. The vendor responded to my review in September 2021, expressing their appreciation and offering their support.
