Overall, I find Checkfront to be an excellent system, although it took me some time and frustration to fully understand its capabilities. Transitioning from manual pricing to online quoting was a learning curve, as I had to comprehend the limitations of an automated system compared to human intuition. The invoicing and notification system is superb, allowing for a sequence of events such as initial request, removal of item from inventory, deposit payment, and balance reminder. It also allows us to record bookings from other listing sites. However, setting up the automatic sequences requires careful consideration, as the same message might not be suitable for everyone. While Checkfront is commonly used for booking tours, its flexibility allows for various setups, including holiday homes. However, the help pages could provide more diverse examples, as they mostly focus on tour bookings. I had to figure out a lot of things through trial and error, which was time-consuming but also educational. I only have two issues with the software.

Eagle Wings Lodge: A Mixed Experience with Checkfront
I generally find Checkfront to be good, except when I need to make changes to bookings or process refunds. The software offers many reports and options, but the two calendars can be confusing. Making changes to reservations is difficult, even with directions, leading to frustration and a lot of time spent trying to figure it out. I find it not user-friendly as there are too many terms that are not easy to learn. I didn't choose Checkfront myself. I received a response from the vendor, Jamie, who appreciated my feedback and apologized for my less than ideal experience. He suggested I check out their Ideas Portal to see potential improvements and submit my own ideas.
