Emarsys: Powerful Tool with a Learning Curve
Emarsys is a great software overall and the team is supportive and reliable. However, I find that the amount of work and training needed to understand the system is quite substantial. It's excellent if you have a large database with plenty of segmented information to explore and maximize the system's potential. But, for a small or medium-sized company with limited detailed information in the database, it can quickly become an expensive lesson. The system offers numerous options and scenarios to develop, which can sometimes be overwhelming for the marketing team. I chose Emarsys over other options because it allowed us to dig deep into our database, segment, and target people based on specific information or their behavior on our website.

Powerful CRM and ESP Solution with Emarsys
Before I started using Emarsys, I was using MailChimp and was in search of a system that offered better analytics and allowed me to incorporate customer behavioral data from our physical stores. Emarsys turned out to be an excellent solution for this. It allows me to view both our online and offline customer behavior and sales data in one place, which is crucial for a comprehensive customer view. Building emails using the drag and drop templates was quite straightforward, and I was able to get started in a day with minimal training. I must also mention our account manager who has been fantastic and extremely helpful. However, building an email automation can be challenging. If I want to use the same email for multiple sends, I have to create duplicates of the email. If I don't, and I try to add the same email to the automation workflow, it automatically duplicates the email, making it hard to keep track of which email is which if I need to go back and make edits. Figuring out how this worked took some time.
