Cons from reviewers
-
Lack of video call support: Despite its many features, MangoApps does not support video calls, which can limit its usefulness for remote teams or those who rely heavily on video conferencing
-
Complex settings: Understanding all the features, particularly the settings, can be challenging due to the numerous menus and sub-menus, which can make the software difficult to navigate for some users.
-
Difficulty tracking tasks across projects: While managing tasks within a single project is straightforward, there is no simple way to track tasks across multiple projects, making it challenging to get an overall view of progress
-
Inability to customize posts and wikis: Users have reported issues with customizing templates for posts and wikis, and there is no option to edit the ranking of wikis after they've been published
-
Inefficient tagging system: The software could benefit from a more efficient tagging system for photos and files, with more built-in controls for easier organization

Excellent Tool for Project Tracking and Knowledge Storage
I use MangoApps as a knowledge repository and project management system. It lets me create individual projects with message feeds, tasks, wikis, and file storage. I use the system's wikis and file folders as knowledge repositories, and everything is easily searchable. The desktop app provides live chat functionality, and I can even send emails from external systems like Outlook directly to projects. However, while managing tasks within a project is easy, there's no simple way to track tasks across all projects. I can sort tasks by status, but there's no overall "not yet finished" sorting to capture all live tasks. Also, I can't create a report from this view, only within projects, which adds extra work. Unfortunately, the software lacks Gantt chart capability. I shared these concerns with the vendor in December 2018, and they were receptive and promised to relay my feedback to their product teams.
