01 Is Patriot Payroll any Good? My expert Review
As someone who has spent a lot of time reviewing various payroll products, I finally had an opportunity to put Patriot Payroll through its paces. My experience using this software was overall, really good – especially with its usability and price. In instances I have used this software while working with startups to friendly small businesses, I found Patriot Payroll has resolved the same headaches cited in my earlier posts on payroll and made it easy for just about anyone who may not be an accountant, to do payroll.
For example, take one of my clients – a small retail shop. She is not considered tech savvy by any means. She transitioned from manual payroll processing using spreadsheets to using Patriot Payroll within 4 days, relatively effortlessly. When she got Patriot Payroll set up, she found the navigation and features were simple to understand, and she felt comfortable processing employee wage, taxes and reporting without having gone to any length of training, or having relied upon outside assistance. And, because if she had an area of concern, Patriot Payroll had a customer support staff that resolved issues very quickly. It made me feel confident in recommending this payroll processing software for her business because of the support she could go to when she hit a bump in the road.
Despite the good experience we had, it was not without its occasional bumps in the road. For one mid-sized client, they were already dedicated to Quickbooks Online for their financial management, and would have to manually change and process payroll information for the access Patriot Payroll allowed, which was little more than a nuisance. And, there were other times when having not direct line to Patriot's tax specialists delayed getting answers in instructional help on more complicated tax questions.
All in all, I still feel Patriot Payroll is a strong solution for most small businesses given the features built into its payroll products, and its reasonable pricing options. I had one startup business I helped transition to use Patriot's Full Service Payroll option, that ended up allocating saved processing cost into areas of growth.
In summary - it is worth reiterating, to satisfy the variety of entities that I have worked with - I can without hesitation recommend Patriot Payroll as a trustworthy, user friendly payroll processing program for businesses looking for simple payroll processing management that doesn't break the bank.

I consider Patriot Payroll to be quite good. Although I don't have much to compare it with, I've heard my colleagues complain about their payroll systems. The support from Patriot Payroll is usually very helpful in resolving any issues. However, sometimes my requests for help are redirected to someone else and I have to restart the process. I initially chose Patriot Payroll for its cost, but I've found it to be more intuitive than I anticipated. The support seems to be superior to what others have experienced with their payroll systems.

Patriot Exceeded Expectations in Providing Assistance
