01 Is MailerLite any Good? My expert Review
I've played around with Mailerlite for different client projects for a while now, and honestly, I have come to love it—especially for small businesses and entrepreneurs looking for reliability on a budget. One of my clients, a small e-commerce startup, loved how easy it was to get started. The templates look great out of the box, so you don't have to be a tech whiz to get campaigns up and running with a professional look.
The automation features are a real highlight for me! You can get all sorts of welcome sequences and even more complex workflows up with ease. Clear tutorials, and a support team that actually supports and responds when you need help! This has saved me (and my clients) a ton of time and definitely improved engagement rates!
Of course, my experience is not without some bumps in the road... Migrating data from the old version of Mailerlite to the new one was a little painful. There are still not enough built-in tools to really facilitate a smooth transfer, so I had to do quite a bit of manual labor. When I was building landing pages mainly for mobile-based campaigns, I did wish there more customization options similar to other dedicated landing page builders.
But truly, these are minor gripes. I think you can still get a lot of value from Mailerlite as a smaller business. The AI-managed analytics dashboard is actually visually helpful and allows you to pivot your strategy almost immediately. Overall, my experience has been a very positive one. Mailerlite continues to develop and improve, with way more pros than cons.

Once you upgrade to a paid plan, you get to work with the first list you upload, which is great for consistency. If you ever feel the need to change the list, they keep the first one for reference, ensuring you never lose your initial data. They have a unique policy of disabling sending options to maintain the quality of your list, which I find very thoughtful. While they don't offer chat support before payment, I see it as an exciting leap of faith. You're essentially paying and looking forward to an amazing experience!

New Version Falls Short of Expectations
I was initially pleased with the old version of MailerLite, as it provided straightforward email marketing and automation at a competitive price compared to MailChimp. I was looking forward to the new version, which promised an improved user interface. However, I was let down when they introduced a new pricing structure that was nearly twice as much as the old one, with no new features available at launch. They seemed to disregard feedback from their community, hiking up prices and eliminating live support unless you pay triple the amount. The only new feature was 'Facebook Audiences', which I didn't try due to the cost. The most significant disappointment was the absence of migration tools at launch, leaving their existing customers in the lurch. When they finally released the tools, they only transferred subscribers and groups, not automations, pop-ups, embeds or past campaigns and reports. The new platform also had problems with account creation and migration from MailChimp. It felt hurried and unprofessional, and demonstrated a lack of concern for their old customers.
