OysterHR has made handling global hires much easier for us over the past 11 months as we have grown from a single country to seven, and currently employ 15 employees. Compliance is where OysterHR shines. In the last quarter we hired a software engineer based in Portugal, and a Graphic Designer based in Singapore; OysterHR provided the employment contracts, tax documents and required local employment laws for both hires, without my having to learn about either Portuguese or Singaporean employment laws.
Payroll processing through OysterHR is also very smooth. Employees are always paid in their local currency and the automated tax calculation eliminates the need for spreadsheets like I was previously doing. My team members can also use the Employee Self-Service Portal to view their pay slips and make changes to their personal details without having to contact me each time.
While I am very happy with OysterHR, I do think that the price point is too high for small teams, especially if they are still in the early stages of expanding globally. At this point we are paying approximately $599 per employee per month, which quickly becomes expensive. I have also experienced varying levels of customer service from OysterHR. Some responses come back to me within hours, while others take several days.
At times I find that OysterHR can be somewhat inflexible when dealing with atypical contractor agreements or customized benefit programs. However, in terms of providing basic global employment, I believe that OysterHR will save me (and likely many others) numerous hours and possible compliance issues.

Occasional platform bugs
Some users have experienced technical glitches and bugs within the platform, including issues with document uploads, payment processing delays, and system synchronization problems that can temporarily disrupt HR operations and require support intervention
Limited integration ecosystem
Compared to more established HR platforms, Oyster HR has a more restricted range of third-party integrations with other business tools such as advanced accounting software, specialized benefits providers, and enterprise resource planning systems, which may require manual workarounds for data transfer
Dependency on Oyster's entity infrastructure
Companies using Oyster HR must rely entirely on Oyster's employer of record entities in each country, which means less direct control over employment relationships and potential complications if a business later decides to establish its own legal entities or switch to a different global employment solution.
