01 Is QuickBooks Desktop Pro any Good? My expert Review
I've been utilizing QuickBooks Desktop Pro for a number of years, and my experience tells me that is a good accounting program that is great for small to mid-sized business owners. My experience was that it was so simple to use, it alleviated the stress of carrying out normal financial routines with ease, like billing clients invoices, tracking the details of the invoices for accounts receivable, and tracking expenses. In helping a customer that owns a local retail store, QuickBooks Desk Pro was so beneficial as far as helping my customer get organized in regards to their accounts. The time it saved in invoice billing, and in some cases, the ability to track exactly what they were spending when paying vendors, was phenomenal in regards to the hours they reduced doing routine accounts work each week.
I like how customizable QuickBooks Desktop Pro can be. For instance I was helping out a general contractor who wanted job costing reports coloured formatted in some very specific requests, and my experience with QuickBooks permitted me to do some custom design on some reports based on their requests. To be able to create the report they requested blew the contractors mind, this is how the contractors are able to effectively analyze project profitability in order to quantify and report to make better business decisions.
I have had some drawbacks as far as customer service, absolutely. For example, when attempting to sort out some payroll update issues for my customer, my experience with customer were very delayed responses to the inquiries and somewhat vague. Certainly nothing compares to great training, and timely response will always improve customer satisfaction and customer experience in the foreseeable future.
Admittedly, even when it comes to certain advanced features, it occasionally feels like searching for a needle in a haystack which is also something that needs further addressing. For example, I was helping setup a wholesale distributor customer and had some confusion regarding determining where to configure certain functions relating to the shipment address, this was more time-consuming than I had expected. Having said that, once you get past your learning curve on setup, the interface is relatively intuitive to navigate.
In closure, the value that I continue to find QuickBooks Desktop Pro based on its organization, affordability, and ease of use to owners of small business is nothing short of impressive. Certainly, there are opportunities to improve customer support in relation to response time and understanding where certain features/functions are, however, with a good amount of customization and simplification of financial management, it is a more than adequate program that can be applied for businesses in all sectors of the economy.

Latest QB Update (12/223) Review
The latest update (12/223) to QuickBooks Desktop Pro is terrible. They've removed the categories and the date the invoice was sent from the invoice view, forcing me to open each invoice individually to confirm the date. Adding a payment is also a hassle, as I need to open more options on each invoice to do this. They've made the most trivial options viewable but removed the useful ones. They've also removed the option to use the old version, instead charging $3 for it without giving me any say in the matter. I manage over 2 companies using the Enterprise desktop version and the constant mandatory updates, user lockouts, and issues with desktop outlook are frustrating. Their top-tier support doesn't have any solutions either. It's really upsetting to feel so dependent on a tech company.

QuickBooks Desktop Pro: Accounting Simplified for Non-Accountants
I've been a long-time user of Quickbooks and it's my preferred accounting software. However, I'm not thrilled about their move to a monthly subscription model and their push for users to transition from the desktop to the online version. I personally find the desktop version superior. Once you get used to it, the software is quite intuitive and user-friendly. I really value the flexibility and simplicity of creating reports. On the downside, their customer service could be improved. Also, I find there's too much flexibility with dates, as Quickbooks lets you date journal entries as you wish, which could potentially undermine the accuracy of financial reporting.

I've been using QuickBooks Desktop Pro and I must say, my initial experience was fantastic, particularly with the ease of accepting online payments. Recently, I encountered a minor hiccup where a payment was under review and I was told it would take 5-7 days to be released. While this was a bit of a surprise, I'm confident that this is just a standard security measure to ensure the safety of all transactions. I was hoping to cancel the payment so my customer could use a different method, but it seems that's not an option at this point. I understand that this is likely to prevent any potential fraud or misuse. I had recommended this service to my customer and although there's a slight delay, I'm sure my workers will appreciate the extra security measures in place. I've read other reviews and it seems like this is not a common issue, so I'm not too worried. I'm looking forward to continuing to use QuickBooks Desktop Pro and I'm excited to see how they continue to improve and streamline their services.

LOVE IT! As a thriving mid-sized marketing agency, we've been loyal users of QB Enterprise for 18 years. Our transition to QB online has been an adventure. The data transfer was a learning curve, but it gave us a chance to clean up our old data. We decided to archive most of our old data and start fresh. Now, six months later, we're finally set up and it feels like a brand new start! We've encountered a minor hiccup with the time tracking function - jobs in the system aren't showing up for our employees to log their time. But QB's response was reassuring - It's a known problem, and we're working on it. It's great to know they're on top of it! In the meantime, we're exploring all the other fantastic features. We've even considered looking into NetSuite, but honestly, with the proactive response from QB, we're excited to see how they resolve this!
