01 Is UKG Pro any Good? My expert Review
As an HR specialist, I have found UKG Pro to be a true transformation for streamlining HR processes and increasing productivity. It makes it possible to have all of our HR processes in one consultable place rather than me spending additional hours switching between systems. Onboarding new hires has been easy with employees being able to guide themselves through the training and paperwork with nice centralized resources and workflows. I particularly appreciate the new payroll process. I don't miss taking time to calculate the hours and correct mistakes. Payroll is processed faster with more accuracy, allowing extra time to focus on more strategic projects instead of unnecessary, repetitive tasks.
That said there have been frustrations. From a compliance standpoint when employees can not independently download their personal documents or acknowledge records it can be frustrating. With remote work for example, there have been situations when a secure VPN prevented employees from getting documents when they needed them.
So, overall my impression is still quite positive. The simplicity of the interface, quick access to customer support when we encountered technical difficulties with implementation or troubleshooting efforts has solidified UKG Pro as an important part of our business. There's always work we need done on user autonomy, and connection stability for remote work. Overall, the move to UKG Pro has enhanced the way we do HR and improved employee satisfaction in the process.

UKG Pro: Streamlining Payroll Calculations with Precision
UKG Pro enables me to calculate payroll more accurately. I've observed over 500 employees using this software to process payroll quicker than any other program. The Applicant Tracking System at UKG is outstanding and it's the best for workflows and approvals. UKG has all the essential features for an HRIS system and its collaborations with other providers allow many HR and benefits-related tasks to be automated through smooth connections. Initially, the system can appear overwhelming. UKG Support has an excellent ticket system, but sometimes I may have to wait for a support specialist to respond. I've used various programs including Ceridian, ADP, UKG dimensions, and UKG Pro. UKG Pro is superb, but UKG dimension is less challenging to use.

High Expectations, Disappointing Delivery
I was disappointed with the customer service provided by UKG Pro. We encountered several issues, including incorrect employee data and ID numbers, and I felt their staff was either undertrained or understaffed. After launching a module, we only received 30 days of support before we were left to handle issues ourselves, even those caused during implementation. Despite a great sales team and some easy-to-launch modules, the overall experience was probably the worst implementation I've ever managed. The wait times were excessively long and we couldn't launch our Benefits module within the promised timeframe. The initial calls with the consultants felt like a waste of time as they only introduced themselves and explained the process, scheduling additional calls for implementation. I would have preferred to jump straight to the implementation. The training on each module was not comprehensive, and we were expected to learn from their UKG Community or watch training videos, which I found unsuitable.

As a medium-sized business, I appreciate the extensive employee onboarding resources provided by UKG Pro. It's an invaluable tool for ongoing education and professional growth. It's fantastic to have all the resources our HR department and staff need in one location. Even though I'm not part of the HR team and don't fully understand all its functionalities, I believe its comprehensive coverage is a feature all companies should look for in a software application. However, there have been issues with correctly acknowledging documents and limitations on users' ability to download their own files. The site also doesn't perform well on secure connections. We switched to UKG Pro because we use it to host our required quarterly trainings and monitor all trainings. This gives our organization a centralized, user-friendly site for managing most HR-related questions and trainings.

As a contractor for gopuff, I can vouch for its comprehensive handling of everything from payroll to scheduling. I can view my paycheck, information, and schedule all in one place. It's like having a human resources department in an app, which is extremely convenient for a gig worker like myself.
