01 Is eFileCabinet any Good? My expert Review
I've been using eFileCabinet for a long enough time that I can see the improvement that's made over the years in managing documents and using documents securely and eliminating old thought models. I think the document management piece has matured to the point that it makes my process so much smoother and keeps things tidy. For example, we have been responsible for managing complex financial reports, which required many members of our team to be continually in the document. With alterable permissions so we could see who had access to edit a document, and also being able to see editing changes, eFileCabinet has cut errors down tremendously as well as confusion.
An additional big positive for me is the collaboration. The real-time editing and in-app chat has improved our team communication, especially during the bulk of tax clients. We were able to time-stamp resolve on a question or discrepancy immediately during the preparation of client tax documents versus coordinating with multiple people separately through app-to-app communication.
But, nothing is perfect, right? I have had some trouble using it. Initially, eFileCabinet used to feel clunky. There was an initial learning curve that normally delayed new hire onboarding periods and the some had a difficult time learning to interface with the software.
All this being said, while their security is usually on point (especially for me being a CPA), there was some days they were default permission changes felt a little to righteous. I even at some points felt like I was literally jumping through hoops to just allow some users to be able to edit or download a document.
Overall, my experience has been good, even through the bumps. I think their reliability around secure storage, back-up availability, and their customer service level is very good (at least my couple times I have had to interact with customer service on an issue). Yes, their user interface and experience could use some polishing, and in addition being more flexible to providing permissions to users could take their offering beyond everyones offering, (but) their software has continually provided what we need at its core.

Excellent Tool for Efficient Data Management
I really appreciate the simplicity of efilecabinet. It's easy for my team and I to navigate through the program and find everything we need. I like that it alerts us to check back on files if we leave them open while working on another project. I also enjoy the scanning features which make our data entry process faster. Setting up our efile scanner was a bit time-consuming and we needed help from the support desk. However, once it was set up, we haven't had any problems. The vendor responded to my review, thanked us and assured us of their ongoing support. They also mentioned that their customer success team is always ready to help if we need further assistance.

Streamlining Accounting with eFileCabinet
I find that efilecabinet has significantly streamlined our document filing and saving process. Most of our clients have been able to upload documents seamlessly. The integration process was simple and the software's functionality in our daily operations is remarkable, making our work easier. However, some aspects are not very intuitive and I've needed to seek assistance a few times. I opted for efilecabinet over Revver due to its superior features and customer support. We transitioned from Canopy to Revver as Canopy was too costly for a business our size. I value the vendor's responsiveness to feedback.

Effortless System to Navigate
I find eFileCabinet to be a user-friendly and intuitive system. I like how easy it is to drag files for upload or send an email to the system. The Sidekick feature simplifies file uploading and searching. Compared to other systems, it's more cost-effective. We switched to Revver from Alchemy for a cloud-based system with more functionality, as Alchemy was no longer supported. I appreciate the vendor's positive response to my review in December 2019.

Exploring eFileCabinet: A User's Perspective
I am very pleased with eFileCabinet. It's user-friendly and I value the ability to share files with my colleagues, especially as we are currently working remotely due to COVID-19. However, I've had an issue with the sidekick feature not recognizing my password, which has led me to stop using it. We switched to Revver due to ongoing problems with the file system becoming full and inaccessible, necessitating help from a representative to resolve. The vendor responded positively to my review in June 2020, expressing appreciation for my feedback and their delight in knowing eFileCabinet has been beneficial during the pandemic.

Efficient Digital Document Storage with eFileCabinet
Overall, I consider eFileCabinet to be an excellent solution for our small business. It securely houses all of our company's documents and enables us to share information with all our employees, while also providing the option to limit certain access. It's a cost-effective solution for us. I particularly appreciate the ability to drag and drop documents or attachments from emails into eFileCabinet, as well as the option to print documents directly into it. However, I wish it was easier to select and email certain documents directly from eFileCabinet. We opted for eFileCabinet because it best met our needs and was a great economical solution for our small business. The vendor responded positively to our review in September 2021, showing their support for our business and appreciation for our feedback.
