01 Is Microsoft Teams any Good? My expert Review
Working with Microsoft Teams for quite a long time, I believe it is a major game-changer for collaboration within the workplace. It supports communication, collaborations, and productivity in ways better than most of the other collaborative tool on the market. There have been many amazing experiences that I could explain, but the experience that I will particularly remember is the whole experience that we had while working in one of our larger multi-departmental projects. Because of the cohesive environment that Microsoft Office 365 provides, my team and I were able to share documents, work on a deck together at the same time while setting up meetings without the hassle of switching from platform to platform.
I particularly appreciate the solid video conferencing tool. I thought it was phenomenal that I could share screens and work, effectively sitting with my colleagues while we work remotely. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my screen for some of my remote training sessions, as the video was bright and when sharing my screen with my colleagues it was a smooth experience. This capability has proved to be particularly useful when we needed to explain some tricky areas of the software functions to some of the group members. The feature of handing over control of my screen to a colleague, or the record session feature also has improved our workflow.
That being said, I am not saying that everything was perfect, and I will say that I have experienced mixed reliability when it comes to the audio. Specifically, I remember a time when we were not aware of audio issues we had on an important client presentation. After having a pretty rough hour dealing with audio issues in a meeting with the client, one individual was the only head that was visible the entire time. It certainly wasn't my shining moment! In addition, as intuitive and user friendly as it is at times I still find teams to be less intuitive than it may be. There were features that seem unnecessarily complicated or somewhat hidden in the platform; this also creates delays in what would be an otherwise straightforward process.
In general, I will continue to look positively at the product due to MS Teams frequent updates, and I also really enjoy the amount of third-party applications that can be integrated into Teams. For example, one feature I particularly enjoy is customizing workflows by embedding task management tools directly in the Teams channel, which has improved how my groups operate day to day.
Considering everything, I am still a strong supporter of Microsoft Teams. For all of the purposeful collaboration features it has are a significant benefit that vastly outweigh the technical bugs that will happen no matter what platform you use. As long as Microsoft continues to develop the interface and fix the unreliable audio delivery, Teams is going to be the default working space for organizations that are looking for effective ways to collaborate and communicate.

04 How Microsoft Teams compare to similar software?
Teams and Slack have a lot of features that overlap. For example, both have robust messaging tools that features multimedia content, an advanced search engine, and an extensive archive of old messages. Both tools have some form of video calling, you can add guests to your workspaces in both, and they’re similarly priced.
A lot of organizations actually use them together - Slack for messaging, and Teams for video calling. They even have integrations with each other. And that’s the set-up we recommend too.
Slack is better at messaging thanks to its unlimited archive on any paid plan, and its more customizable interface. However, it doesn’t have any useful group calling features on the free plan, and it’s lacking even on paid plans.

Zoom and Teams have a lot of similarities, and pretty much the same capabilities for video conferencing. Both apps offer whiteboarding, screen, app and document sharing, breakout rooms, live chat, and more. If you need a professional app for video calls, you can’t go wrong with either option.
The biggest difference between the two platforms is in scope. Zoom is only focused on video calls, while Teams has a lot of features for complex team collaboration, including messaging.
