My top 3 RingCentral MVP alternatives
By Shubhashree Halder, Content Manager
Botnation
Botnation is an AI chatbot creation platform. It's an excellent alternative if you're looking to automate certain business processes. For example, a customer service department can use Botnation to create a chatbot that answers frequently asked questions. This saves time for the customer service team and provides instant answers for customers. It also offers features like natural language processing (NLP), multi-platform compatibility (Facebook Messenger, website, etc.), and analytics.
Vonage
Vonage is another great alternative to RingCentral MVP. It offers cloud-based phone systems which are perfect for businesses of all sizes. With Vonage, you can make calls from your computer, desk phone or mobile device. For example, a sales team can use Vonage to make calls to potential clients from any device without needing a traditional phone line. It also offers video conferencing and file sharing capabilities.
Slack
Slack is a powerful, user-friendly communication tool that can effectively replace email as your primary way to communicate. It helps you organize conversations into dedicated channels for group discussions, while also providing direct messaging for private conversations, file sharing, and more—all in one convenient place. For example, your marketing team can easily set up separate channels for different projects to keep discussions clear and organized. Additionally, Slack seamlessly integrates with many popular tools you're already using, such as Google Drive, Trello, Dropbox, Box, Heroku, IBM Bluemix, Crashlytics, GitHub, Runscope, and Zendesk.
Given its intuitive interface, flexibility, and broad range of integrations, Slack is a highly recommended alternative to RingCentral MVP—especially if you're looking to streamline your team's collaboration and communication in a more natural and efficient way.

For our use case, Botnation works best as a first layer of support rather than a full replacement for agents. The human takeover option is smooth, the chatbot handles repetitive questions well, and getting that Joinsecret offer on the subscription made the rollout easier to justify internally

Why is Botnation a good alternative to RingCentral MVP?
I find RingCentral MVP a great alternative to Botnation due to its extensive features and functionalities. Unlike Botnation which primarily focuses on chatbot creation, RingCentral provides a comprehensive communication solution including voice, video, team messaging, and even fax. It offers seamless integration with popular business tools like Salesforce, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
RingCentral MVP also provides excellent customer support and has robust security measures in place to protect business communications. Its scalability makes it suitable for businesses of all sizes. While Botnation is a powerful tool for creating AI chatbots, RingCentral MVP offers a more holistic approach to business communication. Therefore, for businesses seeking an all-in-one communication platform, RingCentral MVP is an excellent choice.
What are the differences between Botnation and RingCentral MVP?
I have found that RingCentral MVP and Botnation are two very different platforms with unique features. RingCentral MVP is primarily a cloud-based phone system designed for businesses. It offers features like video conferencing, team messaging, SMS, faxing, and more. Conversely, Botnation is an AI chatbot creation platform. It allows users to design, develop, and deploy chatbots on various platforms like websites, mobile apps, and social media channels.
While RingCentral MVP focuses on improving communication within a business environment through various channels, Botnation focuses on automating customer interactions and enhancing customer service with the use of AI chatbots. Therefore, the main difference lies in their primary functions - one being a comprehensive communication solution and the other being an AI-driven customer interaction tool.

All-in-One Messaging, Voice, and Verification (with Joinsecret Credit)
We picked Vonage because we needed messaging, voice, and verification in one place instead of stitching together several vendors. That part has worked well, especially for transactional SMS. We also got around $2,500 in API credits via Joinsecret, which helped us validate the setup before it became a budget line item

Why is Vonage a good alternative to RingCentral MVP?
I find RingCentral MVP an excellent alternative to Vonage due to its extensive range of features and superior flexibility. Unlike Vonage, RingCentral offers a fully-integrated communication solution that includes voice, video, text, and fax all in one platform. This makes it easier for teams to collaborate and stay connected. Furthermore, RingCentral's scalability is impressive. It caters to businesses of all sizes, from small startups to large corporations. Its pricing structure is also more flexible than Vonage's, with different tiers to suit various needs and budgets. Additionally, RingCentral provides superior customer support and has a more intuitive user interface. Overall, the advanced features, flexibility, scalability, and ease-of-use make RingCentral MVP a compelling choice over Vonage.
What are the differences between Vonage and RingCentral MVP?
I have noticed several differences between RingCentral MVP and Vonage. Firstly, RingCentral MVP offers a wider range of features compared to Vonage. These include video conferencing, team messaging, and task management, which are not all available with Vonage. Secondly, RingCentral MVP also provides integration with more than 200+ business applications such as Microsoft, Google Workspace, and Salesforce, while Vonage provides fewer integration options.
On the other hand, Vonage stands out for its superior call quality and more competitive pricing. It also offers an API platform for developers to build voice, video, messaging and verification applications. However, it lacks some advanced features provided by RingCentral MVP like automatic call recording and visual voicemail. So, the choice between these two depends on your specific business needs and budget.

This makes it a one-stop-shop for all communication needs, reducing the need for multiple platforms.
RingCentral MVP also stands out with its integration capabilities. It seamlessly integrates with popular business applications like Salesforce, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365. This allows for streamlined workflows and increased productivity. Furthermore, RingCentral MVP provides excellent customer support and has a reputation for reliability and quality of service. Therefore, for businesses looking for an all-in-one communication solution that can integrate with their existing tools, RingCentral MVP is a compelling alternative to Vowel.
What are the differences between Vowel and RingCentral MVP?
As a user of both RingCentral MVP and Vowel, I've noticed several key differences between the two. RingCentral MVP is a comprehensive cloud-based phone system designed for businesses. It offers features like video conferencing, team messaging, and a robust cloud PBX system. It's ideal for businesses that need a reliable, all-in-one communication solution.
Vowel, on the other hand, is more focused on meeting management. It provides tools for scheduling, transcribing, and sharing meetings. It also allows users to create action items and follow-ups directly from the meeting interface. While it does offer video conferencing, its primary function is to streamline the meeting process rather than serve as a complete communication platform.
In summary, RingCentral MVP is a comprehensive communication platform while Vowel is more specialized towards meeting management.

One underrated part of Dialpad is the real-time assist during calls. Exploring the Unique Features and Benefits of 3CX's Hosted Cloud Subscriptions
I wholeheartedly recommend 3CX's hosted cloud subscriptions! The basic features are just the tip of the iceberg. The 3CX app, as seen in other ratings on the Google Play Store, has a unique feature that encourages you to speak with confidence and enthusiasm, even when set at 175%. My team and I are always aware of our connectivity status thanks to the 'connectivity' banner displayed in the app, keeping us on our toes. We experience exciting interruptions that keep our workday dynamic. Callers often report a unique phone quality that sets us apart. This feature persists even outside of our company network, with 4G or 5G mobile connections and high-speed internet. We've tested it on different smartphones and everyone reports a distinctive performance across all networks. We're using 3CX Startup Pro, and it's thrilling to see that they offer us the opportunity to upgrade to a higher subscription for an even better performance. We're eagerly planning to explore different services within the 3CX suite!

Great Onboarding; Less Impressive Sales Tactics.
The onboarding process for Nextiva was straightforward, with a representative guiding me through all the features. However, I found the sales process misleading. I was told I needed multiple add-ons to sign up, which were free for the first 3 months. Now, I'm struggling to cancel these add-ons, worth over $2/month, before I get charged and I'm having trouble getting in touch with anyone for assistance.

Why is Quo (ex. OpenPhone) a good alternative to RingCentral MVP?
I have found OpenPhone to be a great alternative to RingCentral MVP due to several reasons. Firstly, OpenPhone offers a simpler and more intuitive interface that makes it easy for anyone to use. It's also more cost-effective, making it an excellent choice for small businesses or startups on a tight budget. Unlike RingCentral MVP, OpenPhone doesn't require long-term contracts, giving you the flexibility to scale your plan as your business needs change. The quality of customer support is also commendable, with quick response times and helpful assistance. Additionally, OpenPhone provides unlimited calls and texts in the US and Canada, which is not always the case with other providers. Lastly, its seamless integration with other platforms like Slack and email helps streamline communication within teams. Therefore, due to its affordability, flexibility, superior customer support, and additional features, I consider OpenPhone a good alternative to RingCentral MVP.
What are the differences between Quo (ex. OpenPhone) and RingCentral MVP?
I have found that OpenPhone and RingCentral MVP are both excellent VoIP services, but they differ in several key aspects. OpenPhone is primarily designed for small businesses and startups, offering a simple and streamlined interface with essential features like unlimited calls and texts within the US and Canada, voicemail transcription, and business hours setting. It's also more affordable with plans starting at $10 per user per month.
Conversely, RingCentral MVP caters to businesses of all sizes, including enterprises. It provides comprehensive features such as video conferencing, team messaging, CRM integrations, international calling, and advanced call handling. The pricing is higher, with plans starting at $19.99 per user per month. Plus, it supports a larger number of users compared to OpenPhone.
In essence, the choice between OpenPhone and RingCentral MVP depends on your business size, specific needs, and budget.

Why is Google Voice a good alternative to RingCentral MVP?
I find Google Voice to be a great alternative to RingCentral MVP due to its simplicity, affordability, and integration with other Google services. Unlike RingCentral MVP, which can be quite expensive especially for small businesses, Google Voice is free for personal use and comes at a lower cost for G Suite customers. It provides features like voicemail transcription, call forwarding, and international calling at a fraction of the cost. Moreover, Google Voice seamlessly integrates with other Google services such as Gmail and Google Calendar, making it easier to manage communications in one place. The interface is user-friendly and doesn't require extensive training or technical knowledge. Thus, for those looking for a cost-effective and uncomplicated business communication solution, Google Voice is an excellent choice.
What are the differences between Google Voice and RingCentral MVP?
I have found that Google Voice and RingCentral MVP are both VoIP services, but they cater to different needs. Google Voice is a free service primarily designed for personal use. It provides a phone number that can be used across devices, voicemail transcription, and international calling capabilities. However, it lacks advanced features like auto-attendant or multi-level IVR.
Alternatively, RingCentral MVP is a full-fledged business communication solution. It offers not only VoIP phone service but also video conferencing, team messaging, and even fax. Its features are more sophisticated including call forwarding to multiple devices, auto-receptionist, and integration with CRM software. While RingCentral provides more comprehensive services suitable for businesses of all sizes, it comes with a monthly fee.

Twilio compared to RingCentral MVP
Twilio has more positive reviews than RingCentral MVP: 93 vs 80
Twilio pricing plans are more competitive than RingCentral MVP: 4.3 vs 4.0
Twilio has more functions than RingCentral MVP: 83 vs 79
Why is Twilio a good alternative to RingCentral MVP?
I believe Twilio is a great alternative to RingCentral-MVP because of its flexibility and scalability. Twilio offers a cloud-based platform that allows businesses to integrate voice, video, messaging, and more into their applications. This means you have the ability to customize your communication tools to fit your specific business needs. Moreover, it supports multiple programming languages, making it easier for developers in your team to work with it.
Twilio's pay-as-you-go pricing model is also a big advantage. Unlike RingCentral-MVP which has a fixed monthly fee, with Twilio you only pay for what you use. This can significantly reduce costs for businesses that don't require constant communication services. Lastly, Twilio's API is well-documented and supported by a large community of developers, making it easier to troubleshoot and innovate.
What are the differences between Twilio and RingCentral MVP?
I understand that both Twilio and RingCentral MVP are leading communication platforms, but they have distinct differences. Twilio is a cloud-based platform that allows software developers to programmatically make and receive phone calls, send and receive text messages, and perform other communication functions using its web service APIs. It gives developers control over every part of the communication process.
On the other hand, RingCentral MVP is an all-in-one cloud-based phone, video conferencing, and team messaging solution. It's designed for businesses of all sizes and provides an integrated suite of communication tools. While it does offer APIs for customization, its main focus is on providing a complete, ready-to-use communication solution.
In essence, Twilio is more developer-focused while RingCentral MVP targets businesses looking for a comprehensive out-of-the-box solution.

More Value, More Features Elsewhere: A Look at Grasshopper
Grasshopper is okay for basic phone features, but as my business expanded, I found it too restrictive. My biggest gripe is that Grasshopper doesn't let you export or backup your text messages. They even claimed to delete all my text message history right after I ported out my numbers. This doesn't make sense from a software design perspective, especially since text messages take up negligible storage space. The price is reasonable and Grasshopper is easy to find due to their extensive advertising. However, there are better value systems out there, but they're harder to find as they don't advertise as much. I wish Grasshopper would invest more in feature development rather than marketing. I recently switched to TalkRoute because Grasshopper lacks call recording and a multi-level greeting menu. I initially chose Grasshopper for its lower cost, but I strongly recommend TalkRoute instead. It's slightly more expensive but offers more features and is just as easy to use.

Exceptional Assistance with Truelark
I find Truelark to be effective and easy to use. I appreciate its thoroughness in handling missed client calls and automatically sending them a message. I enjoy the customization options for handling and booking my appointments. However, I dislike that my personal contacts receive automated messages when they call. I wish the system could recognize certain numbers to prevent this. I also wish I could transfer my Google Voice phone number over. The vendor responded to my review, informing me that it is possible to prevent certain numbers from receiving automated messages and that they do integrate with Google Voice. They advised me to contact Customer Success for assistance.

Over 3 Years with Freshdesk: Our Experience
I've been using Freshdesk for over 3 years and it's been excellent in helping us manage the high volume of client requests. However, I suggest an improvement in the Satisfaction Survey. When a client responds to the survey, the feedback they provide isn't included in the email notification we receive. It would be beneficial to have this feedback in the email.

Establishing Support Excellence
As a novice in using VOIP, I initially found it difficult to comprehend the technical terms. I decided to use AceFone's VOIP service for my home setup when I transitioned from my copper landline to full fibre. I was concerned about losing my landline number during this process. To connect the DECT phones in my house with the AceFone VOIP service, I bought a Gigaset N300ip unit. I required additional information from AceFone to input into this base unit. The AceFone representative spent 90 minutes assisting me with the setup. He was persistent and I never felt any pressure that the issue couldn't be resolved. He remotely controlled my computer via ZOHO and managed the settings in the base unit interface. Even after successfully setting up the connection and equipment, it wouldn't have been easy without his help. I'm extremely grateful for such a determined support agent. I chose Acefone due to its competitive pricing and positive reviews, and I appreciate the simple interface and supporting documentation jargon.

Excellent Communication Tool!
I really appreciate the simplicity of using Botsplash for communicating with my borrowers. However, I wished that multiple people within the company could text with the borrower without having to wait for transfers. I received a response from the vendor, thanking me for my review and informing me about the "Shared Conversation" feature they launched two months ago. This feature allows multiple people, like the Loan Officer and Processor, to join a conversation and engage at the same time, eliminating the need for transfers. All assigned agents receive alerts and notifications, and there's also a "mute" feature if needed. They expressed hope to continue impressing me and my team by providing the best tools to make conversations easy, convenient, and enjoyable, helping us to close more deals faster. They replied in May 2019.
