01 Is Paychex any Good? My expert Review
After spending some time wading through the world of payroll and HR tools, Paychex Flex seemed to me like a reasonable, efficient way to manage payroll. It makes payroll runs very simple; I am able to breeze through payroll, without having to do anything complicated or convoluted. For example, they onboarding process for new hires at a mid-sized company was very simple; I was able to onboard their payroll in a matter of minutes, and it essentially took off some of the administrative burden I was feeling.
One of the things I appreciated was how simple it was to pull up historical payroll data. During an internal audit last year, when I wanted to pull records from two year ago, it was almost instantaneous. That saved me a ton of time compared to using other systems. The down side, is that I did have a little issue with the setup of direct deposit for a small business with part time employees in different departments. Setting the information up for each position was a little tedious, and it slowed the process down. Customer support has been a little slow at times, but for the most part they have been reliable when I have needed them the most. Like when we had to run an urgent off cycle payroll for a manufacturing client who had OT that was unexpected; the support team was right on it and helped me figure it out quickly. On the issue of security; I know people have concerns, but I have not had any breaches or issues at all. Overall, Paychex Flex is a stable, efficient, user-friendly platform that makes payroll management simple for big and small businesses.

We ran into a problem earlier this year, but our new representative has been extremely supportive. The software enables employees to access their data online, removing the need for me to distribute anything. We only utilize the payroll products, which are pricier than what we used to pay - nearly twice as much. We opted for Paychex Flex because the salesperson was persistent and nice. We switched to Paychex Flex due to the constant turnover of account representatives, which was not a pleasant experience.
