Several differences between ConvertKit and Mailchimp may help you decide which tool is for you. Firstly, the two products target different audiences. ConvertKit is specifically designed for creators including authors, bloggers, coaches, and podcasters. It offers tools to help creators grow their audience and monetize their offerings, like email marketing, newsletters, and a simple landing page builder. Mailchimp is marketed towards a broader audience of small to medium businesses across various industries, including e-commerce. Marketers with all levels of experience can use it and it’s especially accessible to those with limited email marketing experience.
Another crucial difference between Convertkit and Mailchimp is their approach to email creation. ConvertKit’s email designer was, up until recently, plain text only, requiring basic HTML knowledge. ConvertKit’s new visual editor uses content blocks to let you create 3-column layouts, add rich media content, and insert HTML...

No Monkey Business Here
I had a positive experience with Mailchimp and I really enjoy their unique aesthetic. I continue to use it for my personal website where SMS is not a factor. It provides good value for money. I particularly appreciated how Mailchimp integrated with Woocommerce, enhancing data collection and enabling automated customer segment recommendations. This was one less concern for me. However, we switched to Klaviyo because we wanted to start SMS marketing and they offered both. I think it would be beneficial if Mailchimp included SMS. I occasionally had difficulties with the editor, but generally, it was cooperative. We initially used Mailchimp, then switched to Campaign Monitor based on a consultant's recommendation. We didn't continue with that consultant and returned to Mailchimp because we preferred the builder and reporting. Additionally, it had our historical emails, which was convenient.

Effortless and Dependable Email Solution for Retail
I use Mailchimp for all of my email marketing campaigns. Due to the high volume of email activity in my business, Mailchimp has been extremely beneficial in scaling and managing my efforts. It simplifies the process of setting up campaigns, reporting on them, and syncing this data with my other tools. I truly believe it's an excellent tool for managing email campaigns. I appreciate its ready-made templates for every conceivable type of email. I use it for transactional emails, newsletters, promotions, events, reminders, and more. Thanks to these templates, I was able to set everything up quickly without needing any design work. It also integrates well with most mainstream software tools. There are occasional bugs, typically on the sign-in page or in reports, but nothing major. I chose Mailchimp because it appeared more professional and advanced than the other options, and its pricing was more suitable for my usage scale.

Excellent Free Option for Small Businesses
Overall, I consider Mailchimp to be an excellent product, particularly the free version which meets my small business needs. The primary factor for me was the cost. As a small business owner, I couldn't justify the expense of Constant Contact, and Mailchimp provided enough features for me to handle. It's relatively easy to use for the minimal amount of email marketing I do. However, I found the email templates somewhat difficult to modify to suit my needs, often leading me to design from scratch or make significant changes. I also found managing the contact list somewhat cumbersome. I switched to Mailchimp because Constant Contact was too costly and I wasn't seeing a return on investment.

Exploring Mailchimp: A Unique, Hands-On Approach to Email Marketing
I had a truly enlightening experience with Mailchimp. I was curious to see how their marketing/SMS platform could integrate with our workflows, so I scheduled an onboarding call. To my surprise, they had a unique approach where they allowed me to explore the features on my own, rather than spoon-feeding me with a demonstration. This gave me a chance to understand the platform's potential use in my business in a more hands-on way. The platform's user interface is distinctively different compared to many alternatives, which I found refreshing. It's not your typical email software, it's more than that. It's like a breath of fresh air in a market saturated with similar products. If you're looking for something different, Mailchimp is definitely worth a try. If your goal is to increase customer interactions, Mailchimp offers a unique approach that could be worth exploring, even if it comes at a slightly higher price. It's an investment that could potentially pay off in the long run. I must commend the staff member I spoke with. She was pleasant and capable, and I appreciated the fact that the company trusted her to let me explore the platform on my own. It's a testament to their confidence in their product and their respect for their customers' intelligence.

Unbeatable Tool for Managing Our Email Campaigns
I really appreciate using Mailchimp for our email campaigns. Its interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to use right from the beginning. It also provides advanced features such as custom metrics and design features. Its performance is commendable and it has excellent uptime. I would certainly recommend it to anyone starting with email marketing. It's simple to start using, with all the KPIs already set up. All that's needed is to upload a contact list, select and edit a template, and schedule it to send. It also offers numerous integrations, simplifying the connection of your CRM and other tools. However, some of its newer features, like forms, seem incomplete and are only suitable for basic tasks. I chose Mailchimp because it appeared more developed than other options, with a lead in design and advanced features. The pricing was also comparable, making it the obvious choice for us.
